On the flip side Richt is dominating at Miami with less talent than he had at Georgia.

Facts matter.

Who has he beaten that is worth a bucket of water?

Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M, App State and GA Tech aren't exactly world beaters.

Matter of fact, most GT fans here in ATL would kill to have Paul Johnson gone.

IF they beat FSU, that is a great win. But thats a big IF.

He is like Gus. They are both learning how to be a HC. What is bad for them...............they are both trying to learn while competing in the toughest Conf. in the nation.

That's not true. Pretty much every great coach who started their career at an elite program won pretty much right away. Bob Stoops, Barry Switzer, Tom Osborne, and even the likes of Lloyd Carr, Mark Richt and Phil Fulmer were all able to win at least 75% of their games by their second year.

While this may be true, I would be willing to bet that Kirby wins 75% of his games this year...his first. That would be a 9-3 season. If we can split one between Florida and Auburn we should go 9-3. It's doable this year, and I think certain next year.

firing Richt was the right move for Georgia.

hiring a coordinator that has zero hc experience wasn't. he may turn out to be a good coach, but it was still a risky decision.

9-3 should be attainable by any coach at UG with a pulse, given how consistently shitty the East is plus your recruiting advantages. It's a blessing and a curse for yall because it's hard to fire winning coaches.

With that out of the way, Kirby is losing to teams that don't have as much talent as you do.

bullshite, OM out recruited us in the 16 and 13. UT our recruited us in in 14 and 15. Our 13/14 classes have been wiped out by injury and transfers.

Top 25 should be, but it wasn't for richt over the recent ten years.

They are similar in that they are head coaches in the SEC. That is about where it ends.

So by description Richt was:
Coach without a pulse in - 2006, 2009, 2010, 2013
Coach with a pulse in - 2008, 2015
Did a good job in - 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014

Now you might be understanding why we want more than a "coach with a pulse or worse" 60% of the time.

Almost. Georgia got rid of a CD, which doesn't even provide a return equal to inflation, and out our money into a growth stock. We knew for sure our money was dying a slow death in the CD, at least now we have hope of some return.

FWIW Kirby isn't ready for a top job like Georgia. He's been around Saban but Kirby doesn't have the gravitas or personal management skills to inspire the players, coach the team, and do all the other things it takes to win at the highest level. It's just too much for Kirby and I think Georgia is in for a tough few years of underachieving - less successful than the Richt years.

When did UGA become a blue-blood elite school? Throughout history UGA has underachieved. Getting rid of Richt was one of the dumbest moves in college football.

UGA hired Smart but failed to study what he did at Bama. He had problems stopping teams with good QBs, it continues to be a problem. See Cam,JFF,Murray, Barrett, Knight, Marshall, Watson, now Kelly and Dodds. The better the QB play gets in the SEC, the bigger the problems are going to be for him.

Didn't the board try to tell us when he was hired it was saban's defense and smart was just a puppet? Well which is it, were those saban's defenses or smarts?

I know you aren't stupid enough to not see the connection here...but you realize that the multiple heisman finalists/winners and other All American type folks you listed have done extremely well against just about everyone they've played...right? Kelly just lit the frick up out of bama this year without smart..maybe he's just a really good QB? Crazy I know.

You can say this for literally any coach in america. "Well the better the opponent they play against the tougher time they'll have". Yeah, no shite.
