why are people crying about it before they have heard the guy analyze a game yet? If he sucks he will be fired. Its no big deal.

He starts his new "career" by lying....nice.
McElroy's total experience behind the mike is being a guest on one telecast. The potential for FAIL is enormous.....

After hearing Greg McElroy say he was more NFL ready than Cam Newton, I'm going to step out on a limb and say this might not be the area of football he should analyze...
That's hilarious considering the only thing close to a tv sports figure the Barn can muster is Charles Barkley. ...the "court jester" of the NBA. At least GMAC won't have everyone laughing at him.

This... The only reason the guy got a shot in the NFL was because of his father...

McElroy joins analysts Jesse Palmer and Tim Tebow and commentators Paul Finebaum, Brent Musburger and Joe Tessitore.

Are they trying to get the SEC TV to fail? Musburger just does not belong on SEC TV. Nobody wants to hear him wax nostalgic about the B1G, PAC, or Rose Bowl on a SEC broadcast. Does this mean they will put Bobby Knight on SEC TV for basketball?

McElroy = Alabama QB
Palmer = Florida QB
Tebow = Florida QB
Finebaum = Alabama homer
Tessitore = east coast guy (Executive producer for "Roll Tide, War Eagle.""
Musburger = B1G and PAC homer (born in Oregon, went to Northwestern)

Give me Dave South over Musburger any day.

There is only one former Alabama QB I would tolerate being on the SEC Network.

Jake Holland would be a great analysts who would add a touch of Boogvill to the Net.

OK...then you'll have no problem listing his broadcast experience as a commentator:
1.
2.
3.
4.

I'm not holding a grudge. I'm pointing out it wasn't cool. Was the loss not as heartbreaking to the players who did shake hands?

Were there not 25,000 auburn fans storming the field? Maybe he didn't want to have to search out selective players to congratulate among a crowd I'm sure would have been less than hospitable as he moved around. There is literally not one angle on this in which you don't come across as a petty little bitch who just looks for crap to flame Bama about. Get over it. He congratulated Auburn and over his time at Bama I don't recall one time him bad mouthing anyone or anybody at Auburn.

Greg McElroy is extremely well spoken and will do well in this position

I agree. I think he'll be better than Palmer. He did an excellent job the short time he was on for the Au/Oregon NC game.

Right thinking, wrong person. It is good to have a sober analyst, but it would be cool to have somebody with humor / southern manners. Madden type would be a blessing for all the fat players in the SEC. Art Donovan type would be great to tell stories in the down time. Perfect booth would be.
#1 Solid analyst
#2 Funny guy
#3 Home spun guy

The lineup ESPN has so far seems far from that type lineup.
