What happens when programs lose these coaches?

But you were just saying that elite programs don't lose 5 games in a season and then you listed those 4 teams who obviously have plenty of seasons that they lost 5 games. Seems like your post invalidated your argument. I hate to look at things like stats and facts though.

Also of note in this contest:

LSU was missing a QB and a competent Defensive Coordinator and

PSSSSTTT...the team had given up by this game.

At the end of the day that's on the head coach. He's been there to recruit the QB's and bring in the coordinators.

Not a good thing for the team. Nobody wants their team associated with quitters. I don't believe they didn't try or care to win that game.

They haven't lost 5 games since they've been at the top have they?
They were not elite teams back then.
They are now. LSU had a 2 or 3 win season in the late 90's.
shite that long ago doesn't mean anything now.

You must be really young or have no concept of history.

UT - They were not good in the 90's.
'99 (9-5)
'97 (4-7)
'96 (8-5)
'93 (5-5-1)
'92 (6-5)
'91 (5-6)

OU - They sucked really badly in the 90's.
'99 (7-5)
'98 (5-6)
'97 (4-8)
'96 (3-8)
'95 (5-5-1)
'94 (6-6)
'92 (5-4-2)

OSU was 7-5 in this decade (2001). From '99 to '01 they had 15 losses.

'96 to '01 USC had 5 losses or more each year. They weren't good in the 90's either.

Don't confuse the weeble with facts.

Their last 5 loss season was in the 90s and LSU's was last year. Seems to support the argument. The last one of those teams to have a five loss season was seven years ago.

The way LSU played after the Bama game last year reminded me of the way Bama played after they lost to LSU in 07.

These were not elite programs 9 years ago you dumb piece of shite. I guess Ole Miss was an elite program at that time too.
We went 7-5 all the time back in the 90's.

You really are a dumbass. Saban has lost 5 games or more 2 times this decade along with a 4 loss season and he is a good coach. Saban lost 5 games at LSU in 2002 after winning the SEC in 2001 becasue we got shaky QB play.

Most would consider them elite programs that had a down period. They definately weren't elite in the 90's is correct.

So we'll assume that OSU, UT, OU, and USC became elite teams in the last few years. How many years does it take to become an elite team? Does Bama's one year make us an elite team now? Is Boise State an elite team based on their recent record?

None of the teams listed have more championships than LSU since 2000. LSU won a championship 2 years ago. It takes more than one mediocre year after a decade of dominance to make your team less than elite. The New England Patriots aren't elite anymore either. They lost their QB, much like LSU, and had a poor season. They're off the elite list.

I understand you're trying to flame away but at least make some sense about it. Even other team's fans have to jump in and tell you that you sound like a boob.
