How many years does it take to become an elite team?

3 or 4 usually. Bama is an elite program after this year, most likely.
It depends on the sitiuation. It depends on the name recognition.

The New England Patriots aren't elite anymore either. They lost their QB, much like LSU, and had a poor season. They're off the elite list.

They were a Superbowl contender with One of the best players in the game injured for Christsakes. LSU wasn't even a contender for their division and we don't even know how good Perriloux would have been.

They were a defending national champion with their star QB kicked off the team for Christsakes.

The guy hadn't started a fricking game.
One player doesn't make a team. New England proved that.

How many SECCG had LSU gone to before Saban?
How many years has Les Miles had less than two losses?

That doesn't change the fact that he started a game and you posted incorrect information again. Also he won the SEC championship game against a team that earned an SEC East title.

Sour grapes. I'm not an LSU fan but 2 championships in a decade is mighty. Sorry about your penis envy.

Considering the SEC championship game only started 8 years before Saban came to LSU, that's not a huge dry spell. It's not 17 years or anything.

You can say the same for just about any coach in the SEC accept Myer.

I'm sorry.
I forgot that he started a game due to the Starting QB being injured, and was thus All-Universe.
Dude was dumb enough to get kicked off the team, and thus would not have made a good enough QB to take LSU to an SEC championship game. Stop with the coulda woulda.
Ole Miss coulda woulda played for the NC last year, but we didn't. I guess we coulda woulda do it this year.

You seem to forget a lot of facts.

Is that similar to your couldn'ta wouldn'ta

Well your starter threw 4 INTs versus Vandy and now he's All-Universe. At least you have that going for you.

A new quarterback is going to struggle. Look at his body of work as the season went on and you see why.

Nah, I'll just judge him on his first year in the first half the season after sitting out a year.
