Everybody knows Quantrill was buried in Augusta, Arkansas.

Weird how reputable historians claim Philippi to be the first land "battle" of the Civil War then. Really weird

when we moved here I never considered this to be a yankee state (MO)and for those that I know here(southern MO) They don't either. After following the rant for some time now it appears some things have never changed even after 150 years. There are still many yankee sypathisors in this state just as there have always been. Truth is there were such in many more confederate states as well but nobody seems to bring that up much. I am proud to be from the south weather you call it the south or not. And I love me some sec football. And if we ever have to go into battle with the rest of the union on the grid Iron I'm glad them missourians are on our side.

We expect nothing less from southern mizzourians ... but, at the same time, we've all seen what the rest of the state of Missouri is all about. (Video)

Or we could deconstruct Bacon's Rebellion, Lord Dunmore's Proclamation, the NW Ordinance, the Great Compromise, yada, yada, yada - none which have a damn thing to do with Missouri, and even if they did, who the hell thinks it's cool to have started a civil war?

You do know and comprehend the difference between the who and the what and the where, do you not?

The causality, the causation ... the relation to the actual event and the effect, do you not?

Civil Wars rarely begin when the first shots are fired or the first blood is drawn ... they begin long before.

Civil Wars are often necessary ... it sometimes takes a mess to fix a mess, one way or the other.

Yeah, we're proud to claim the first shots here in SC. We may actually fire the first shots of the second one as well.

No, please teach me about the Civil War, master.

When you're done, go read the OP, wherein he claims they "lit the powder keg." Better yet, read the part of my post you didn't quote.

Killz is extremely clever with his Civil War distraction thread.

While the rest of us fans are nervously waiting the rematch of the Gamecocks and the Tigers. Should be a very good game.

I am your master, that is clear. Yet I would never be so presumptuous as to assume that I could possibly teach you anything of worth ... you are, after all, a hairy sack of little (emphasis mine) cheesy balls.

1. You're a funny guy who seems to know a lot about balls. Congrats!

2. You really need to read more. Try the Analects of Confucius, for starters. It will help you understand the way in which you were insulted in the previous post.

These fake southerners in the new south don't like to reshuffle their deck, finding out that Missouri is a real Confederate state is too much for them to handle.

The truth is, a lot of these new southerners are really the great grandsons and daughters of carpetbagger scum that moved south during the reconstruction.
