You think we should throw Rodrigo's personal effects in the trash do ya?
You still believe that BS? That was staged for sympathy or never happened.
Why are you guys treating Rodrigo so bad?

we aren't treating him any differently than we've treated many, many kickers and punters at UGA the last 2 decades.
Any "badness" coming his way is 100% a product of his delusional psychopath of a father.

That website will provide any evidence you need of that.

It is evident Georgia deserved better than what I was able to offer this season, and I would like to apologize for my clearly-defined deficiencies.
I don't think it's passive aggressive. The deficiencies he's referencing are distance on both his FGs and KOs. Both are items that Kirby has pointed out several times, and Blankenship has as well in his limited interviews this year.
In my opinion he seems like a good kid who understands what's going on. His dad seems like an idiot.

Undoubtedly. I get that a dad is gonna back his son and want whats best for him, but that website goes way above and beyond that. In the HS soccer section he basically trashes the rest of the team for being crappy...these are 14-17 year old kids playing soccer. And a grown man is shite talking them on a website he created. It's almost beyond belief.

Damn, Mullen would welcome him with open arms and a scholly

The only thing this does is shine a spotlight on how ridiculous the system is. So many arbitrary rules to keep up the appearance of amateurism to avoid taxes.

I've never heard of the starting kicker on an SEC team to not be on scholarship. I mean he won a freaking game last year for UGA, and they can't give him a scholarship?

I could understand if he was trying to get him some exposure in high school.

Elliott Fry, the outstanding kicker we've had the past 4 years, turned down a scholly from LA Tech to walk on at SC, and earned a scholly. Missed one PAT at the beginning of his freshman year, then didn't miss another for the remainder of his career. Never had a kick blocked as far as I remember. Won us quite a few games.

Used to be the norm, unless you were one of the top kickers in the country, punters too.
Most earned theirs after a few years on campus.

Just needs to wait for someone to get arrested and something will open up.

Really? I would imagine there are a handful that aren't. Not sure if ours had one this year. He was a walk on.

I guess so... But now that he's playing and only playing football, he needs to take that shite down. The dad runs it, all the contact info (including personal email and street address) are his.

Then you haven't been paying attention. That's how most schools operate.

Most of UGA's kickers over the past couple decades have been PWO's who earned scholarships. FWIW, I think Blankenship would have been given one in fall camp this coming year (he lost the starting job to William Ham in fall camp this year), but good ol' pops basically made it impossible for that to happen now.

For us, there exist no acceptable rationalizations or explanations for denying our son what he has deservedly earned: an athletic scholarship to continue playing football at the University of Georgia.
We wonder where the entitlement mentality comes from.

I agree he should just leave , If he is the best kicker they have and isn't on scholarship .seems crazy that the starting kicker isn't on scholarship. The dad should just shut up and transfer his son into another school a few days before the season starts or during the season.
