I like watching a good representation of all three phases of the game.

I don't like watching guys square up a mistake pitch and see it get caught on the warning track. That's not good pitching, that's a problem.

Don't take this as bitching because the park helped us along the way a couple of time too......
But as far as ESPN is concerned the park turned what would have been a great game 2 in most any other park into a blowout. UCLA won handily, but at one point it would have actually been 5-4 bulldogs due to Rea and Renfroe homeruns. Instead, you had people flipping over to a blowout where there was absolutely no chance of a comeback.

I like watching good pitching. I don't like watching pitching mistakes go unpunished.

Fair enough. I can agree with you on this.

And I think every team got burned on it enough for it to not be partisan bitching.

A spec change in the baseball can't happen before the 2015 season; however, the fences at the stadium could be changed immediately.

A friend of mine spoke with Coach Fox who told him that ESPN has given marching orders for Omaha to "fix" the problem or they're moving all games to another location.

Hypothetically, I wonder how in Hades they could do that? Reverse the field? Change location of the field? Move the fences in 10 feet?

had state's hitters adjusted to the conditions in game one, they probably win the game... Hershizer said as much during the 2nd game boardcast... he said MSU was blasting balls during BP (with only a couple of HRs) instead of driving the ball in the gaps.

It's easy for me to say sitting on my couch, but seems like the hitters could've done a better job of making pitchers pay for mistakes.

LOL. Its like the epic "you don't like watching good defense" to justify the 9-6 offensive shitfest as being the "greatest game ever".

Viewers for the championship game was down 37% from last year.

To be fair, it was having to compete with new episodes of fast n loud, pawn stars, and american pickers, you know shows people actually follow.

wouldn't even have to be that much. Move the fence in 5 feet and MSU would have had 6 more homeruns in the tournament. Judging by MSU games alone, I would guess there would have been 15-25 more homeruns in the tournament if the fences were in 5 feet.

that's the sad part. There was no chance of a comeback in either of the games down just 3 runs

I don't mind UCLA playing the slap and grind brand of baseball. But a neutral site should favor all styles of baseball to give all teams a fair shot at the championship. It was very frustrating watching them slap balls over the infielders. Fine, but give the other team a chance to make it up with homeruns.

Oh, and they also constantly leaned into pitches. At least the ump called them on it in UNC's game.

Move in the fences a bit and the "problem" is solved.

After what I saw at this year's CWS, 3-0 classifies as a blowout.

im4LSU, I see our idea about what would have classified as a blowout were the same.

The stadium was designed during the "juiced bats" era, it was built this way to keep the CWS from continuing to be a home run derby and help the pitchers out.

The NCAA is responsible for this problem, as it isn't just happening in one stadium, either go to a wood bat or liven the bats up a little, right now they are "dead" from end to end, a wood bat at least has a "sweet spot"...

I looked it up a couple days ago and TD Ameritrade is actually bigger than 21 MLB parks and about even with another 6 more.

thats a big arse ballpark.

To me the bats are a non issue. But when you have a stadium that many MLB players would have trouble hitting it out of there is a problem.

That's a good thing, right?

Seems to me that makes the transition of college to pro ball more appealing to a good player that otherwise would have skipped college.

Also i would hope it's size comparable to MLB parks...it is a minor leauge park for the rest of the year, right?
I'm having a hard time seeing why people are upset about this.
