I admittedly don't really know a thing about USC (really don't know much about most teams outside the SEC).

So educate me. Why should I think USC has any chance against the mighty Tide and Lord Saban?

Their front end talent will keep them in the game for 2-2.5 quarters. Alabama's depth is just too much for them in the end, IMO.

Bama is looking at starting a true freshman at QB.

So they've got some guys on the DL and OL? I'm clueless as to their team, unless they have a QB or WR still on the team I'm familiar with

Of course they do. We don't even have a starting QB yet.

No, I mean their starters in general. USC has recruited some studs the last 3-4 years, but the depth is sketchy.

They have good match ups on the perimeter but Bama should dominate the LOS.

They have a shot but it's not likely

of course they do. I don't have the little FPI do-hicky like ESPN but I'd say they have a 30% chance.

Probably a 3 qtr game with Bama pulling away in the 4th due to depth.

Helps Bama IMO that it's a neutral site game.

I'm sure it will be competitive.

From what I have gathered USC has

Strengths
- O Line
- Running Back
- Wide Receiver
- Secondary

Weakness
- Defensive Line
- Quarterback

Meh
- Linebacker
- Coach

Generally, if you take that mash up of strengths/weaknesses and add it to their type of offensive scheme (pro style), I feel pretty good about it. However, they have great athletes, and my guess is it will be a competitive ballgame. Their youth and inexperience on the DL will be an issue, I think, as will having a brand new QB against our defense.

However, if our QB (whoever it is) comes out and turns the ball over, it totally changes the game around.

JuJu Smith is a stud. Adoree Jackson is an elite Corner too.

Yea.....like I said above, take those 2 and add in a pro-style scheme.........not the best recipe to beat us.

As is USC. Last I read on USC forum, their QB battle is between a Sr. who has had relatively no playing time behind Kessler and their 2nd string QB and a true freshman who didn't play his junior year in HS. Last year in HS, this year opens with #1 team in college football. Not a good situation. They pride theirselves as a power run team, although they have a couple good receivers. Freshman QB throws one pick or takes a big sack early, passing game goes out the window and we know how power run teams fare against Bama.

I sure as shite hope so, but I don't have any faith in Clay Helton. Bama is going to beat them like a rented mule.

SC is talented this year, but playing Bama the very first game will be brutal for us. New QB, D line is still thin, and our Oline is overrated. I do think by the end of the year we'll have a solid team, but this is just a very bad match up for us.

I think he is talking about their first string players.
