True. I don't seriously think 9 will do it this year. It was just low-hanging fruit from the comment I responded to.

Of course they couldn't save you when it really counted a couple of months later either, but I digress.

Yeah.. it would have been nice to know the first time didn't really count and was just a practice so we could have saved that performance for later.

The only elite defense on the field in that game this year will be wearing crimson and white.

And now you go full gump.

It looks the same

You're putting WAY too much stock in beating a UGA team that literally faced no one all year.

It's much improved. Chubb was a superstar too, until he ran into our front 7. His long run was meaningless and when we were up 30. The rest of the game he was bottled up.

All kidding aside, this is the best offensive line LSU has had in recent memory. We'll see how they stack up against what is admittedly an outstanding defensive front for Alabama. Oh, and Fournette.

To be honest with you, I'm more worried about whether LSU can stop Alabama than whether LSU will get points. Not so sure about LSU's defense right now.

A few honest thoughts, and this isn't to say you're wrong. How can it be the "best offensive line LSU has had in recent memory?" You lost La'el Collins who was very good. The guy is starting in the NFL right now. I find that statement difficult to believe.

Next, who has LSU played that would lead one to believe this offensive line is outstanding? MSU looks bad this year, AU is a dumpster fire, and I won't even mention the other 2 teams. South Carolina looks as bad as they've ever been under Spurrier.

I don't think we know much about LSU yet, other than Fournette is elite. I believe we've all known that since day 1. Just my humble opinion.

Yes. I won't be surprised if they run for over 200 yards. The bigger issue is that Kevin Steele is their defensive coordinator.

We didn't know Fournette was elite from day one, though. After LSU's opener against Wisconsin last year, people were already writing him off as overrated.

I believe Fournette is averaging something like 6 yards per carry before contact. Also, Syracuse had the third best rushing defense statistically until LSU came to town. Our other backs, such as Williams, Guice and Brousette, look good as well. So yes, this is still the best offensive line I've seen at LSU in a long while. The real test before Alabama will be Florida, though.

Well he was the top player in the country out of high school and certainly looks the part of an elite player. His numbers this year have only confirmed his elite status even more to me.

Syracuse? You used Syracuse as a barometer? Come on man.

Of course they have a chance. A good one IMO. What a stupid question.

Fournette could play in the NFL this Sunday. If he knew the playbook he would be an upgrade at RB for at least a third of NFL teams. I'm serious.

My doubts are with the rest of the LSU team. Defense hasn't looked good. Passing game is non-existent. I don't have any questions with Fournette, kid is special.

I'll oblige. It's going to be somewhat of a narrative..stay focused.

'Best offensive line in recent memory'..as evidenced by the fact that LSU has the most rushing yards through 4 games in what, the last 25 years? Pretty good, I'd say even with the loss of La'El.

Your response...oh who have they played? LSU can only play the teams on their schedule. (weather permitting)

The only thing that is in question with LSU is the passing game. Which I could care less about.

Les will run, run and run some more against Bama.

Whoever has the ball last wins the game.

Les will "attempt" to run run run against Bama. Just like Chubb and Georgia did. Whether he's successful or not, remains to be seen.

He's ran ran ran the last few years also. You guys ran the ball nearly 60 times against Bama last year with little success. It plays directly into Bama's greatest strength.

How can you not worry about passing the ball? Do some of you really think you can beat Alabama by just running it 60 times? How many one dimensional teams beat elite teams? If LSU cannot pass on UA, they lose. Simple as that.
