I could see Bama holding Fournette two 130 "normal" yards. The challenge is stopping those 2 or 3 50+ yard plays that he has a habit of ripping off. He has more homerun capability than any other back in college right now. The question on defense is, can Bama keep him from hitting any for an entire game? We shall see.

I was pretty shocked at how effective LSU was power running against Bama last year.

183 yards on 56 carries
3.27ypc
0 TDs

You and I have very different definitions of the word "effective"

Georgia had a decent ypc so yes its possible.

Georgia's YPC is skewed due to that 83-yard run in the third quarter. Beyond that one run they didn't do anything on the ground.

It will be tough to run enough to win, unless your passing game is better in that game than it has been so far.

For what it was meant to do, it was very effective. LSU had nearly double TOP and somehow led for most of the game with Jennings at QB.

It was meant to score no touchdowns and lose the game?

Georgia's YPC was inflated due to the 83-yard run. Other than that, we didn't average 3 YPC as a team.

not going to be able to run in the middle of that D but may be able to get around the edges especially with that read option. Harris is plenty fast and Fournette is what he is. Better hope the passing game comes around by then to at least keep Bama a little bit honest. On paper LSU's WR's are as good as any in the SEC and Harris has shown he can throw it, but for some reason it's just not clicking.

We can run it well enough to win. We need to go 5 wide and make them play straight up in the box. We can win that battle enough to get victory.

This is a common misconception, that you can stop a team from loading the box by playing five wide. It's not true. BTW, five wide means #7 is on the bench.

Sure they can, to an extent. I could see LF7 carying it for 30 times for 130 or something like that. Problem is the passing game may not break 100, and LSU will need 400-500 yards and 30+ points to beat Bama in BDS. I doubt that happens.

Agree.

With what was the 2nd best defense in the nation that year, and one of the best in recent history

Your defense is a farcry from that one. Bama's offense and defense are statistically much closer to 2011 than LSU's is. 9 points won't be enough.

He did that 2/3 times against you guys and won, and he's half the qb that Harris is.

For all the shite LSU fans have given Chavis for the 4th quarter collapses the past two games in BR, it was your defense that kept those games close and gave you any chance at all to win. Your offense against us has been pedestrian at best, and there is no real reason to expect that to change this year. Your defense this season, however, has been unimpressive. I mean, Mississippi State gained more yards and scored more points against y'all than they did against Auburn. Freaking Auburn. I want you to think about that for a minute. Really digest it.

Bama wins the LSU game in a snoozer this year by 20 points minimum.
