This has been explained over and over to the trolls.

They know LSU has money, but they are scared daddy is going to get someone better than Less.

They don't want that win streak going over a decade. And they will say whatever they can and jizz on as many dead dogs as they can to make themselves feel better about their pathetic athletic program and pathetic lives.

Their entire athletic budget was $37M last year. If it's an arms race, they lose. It's just a question of at what price they give up.

I just looked over the 2015 taf audit and nothing in there is impressive at all really.

Uhhhh maybe because they are saving up for a Les Miles buyout and subsequent HC salary

I wouldn't expect someone with your intelligence to connect the dots there

Like last year we all shook in our boots cuz Jimbeaux was signed, sealed and delivered?

Speaking of "daddy", I think Texas may have a say.

We all know LSU can outspend U. Houston on anything. And, of course, we all know that it's ultimately up to Tom Herman. If he wants to go he goes; if not not. This isn't endentured servitude and fiefdom. Most of us see that UH is willing and wanting to fight this time. It is bound and determined to stake its place and rise. Kudos. Can't blame.

One obstacle to LSU's being willing to sell the moon for the man is the prospect of looking stupid as hell if they give him ungodly amounts of $ and then-- for some unforeseen causation(s)-- he fails.

Look dude, obviously you are jealous that Herman has possibly fallen into our laps as a possible coaching replacement while you got stuck with Colonel Buck Tooth manning the ship.

I know it's depressing knowing from here on out your program will be second fiddle to Georgia in the race for the SEC east crown but, take it easy man. It's just football

I love when schools ask "How is LSU going to pay for him?"

As a person with family members in the TAF I can tell you the donors have 30 million dollars set aside for if and when Les is canned. 6 Million goes to Les's buyout Jan. 1st 2017 and 24 million to play with for the new head coach.

The state given funds to the school may have taken a hit but the Tiger Athletic Foundation and private donors dont reflect the schools monetary problems at the moment.

If they get him so be it. I'm not saying they cant, im saying he's a hot name right now and other schools are gonna throw their bid in the hat as well. Teams with just as deep or deeper pockets than LSU

I like Herman, I think he's a pretty good coach. But noone is losing sleep over the thought of him coming to the SEC.

Well, I have to admit that I'd rather see him go elsewhere. Baton Rouge is just 2 tics eastward via I-10 from where he is, and Austin is even closer (and more attractive). I'm not too keen on his going anywhere this side of Kansas, to be honest.

I think a lot of LSU fans know if UT or A&M throw their hat into the bidding war, it's over for LSU

Surely you're not comparing what analysts call one of the best jobs in CFB (LSU) to the Cougar High HC gig.

If so, that UF education of yours is more overrated than we thought.

I assure you Herman would walk to BR, if the job comes open.

You do realize that we have the highest paid coaching staff in the country right? LSUs academic side is in a budget crisis but you're kidding yourself if you don't think that LSU's athletic revenue and boosters aren't alive and well. Trust me- if Miles doesn't produce then they'll pony up for Herman. Only two things that could stop it- Herman waiting for UT or wanting to build a program from the ground up.

Herman doesn't want to build from the "ground up".

He turned down a job last year because he felt it was "ground up" in his point of view.

Fixed it for ya.

$9 million in head coach buyouts, $5 million bonus, I can only imagine another $3-$4 million for assistant contracts. Then you have to sign Herman to a $20+ million contract.

I don't think they'll do it, even if they could come up with that kind of cash.

I think he goes to AU if he Gus falters and he is convinced Saban will be departing Alabama in next few seasons.
