if les miles only wins 8 games i don't think it'll matter this year.

it would look like every other program that spends a ton on football.

if miles is allowed to keep wallowing around, it will hurt lsu's bottom line. it probably has already.

the money generated by lsu football is a big deal to the university. more so than a place like uf.

regardless of how it looks, taf funds are used for buyouts and coaching salaries.

not one cent of taxpayer money is used on lsu athletics...because football makes enough to support all of it and gives to academics.

i understand all that, but the differences for most positions aren't that different. it's playing football and getting reps in. as far as the qb position, it's a dumpster fire for both teams. that's the position it's toughest on.

it's really not a big deal for most players. yes, i know this from experience. some of you fans look waaaay too far into this shite.

We'll see how it all shakes out, I wouldnt put all my eggs in that Herman basket if I were you though.

Lots can happen. As we saw last year.

Wont change this yr. How would it look to everyone with half of Baton Rouge's family's possessions sitting on the side of the road from the floods and LSU pays out 20+ mil to fix its coaching problems?

TAF pays for it. Who do you think paid for that stadium expansion to put us over the 100K mark?

Jimbo didn't leave because he has already won a natty and been to the CFP. Don't compare Houston to FSU.

Last year Les was in trouble but actually had a lot more support than people think.

This year he had 18 returning starters, top two recruiting class and the hottest DC in college football. If he doesn't win the SEC, he is gone.

Y'all need to focus on your strength and conditioning program. Seems you lose a QB every year to injury or banned substances. Focus on that little problem first. Then you can come put your two cents in on a subject you obviously know nothing about.

Go drunk you're home.

no doubt. i think UH gets into the b12 anyway. i think that's the main reason we wouldn't get herman. our most realistic candidate is fedora i guess. maybe the guy from northern illinois. i'd take petrino, but i think he stays at louisville and not sure we'd offer.

maybe see what kingsbury could do with lsu talent.

1 season of each is now EVERY YEAR??? Cheap/low shots to the legs knock out pro players so that shows what you know about football.

I'd like to see that myself. Kliff with 4-5 star QB's and WR's and a defense.

One obstacle to LSU's being willing to sell the moon for the man is the prospect of looking stupid as hell if they give him ungodly amounts of $ and then-- for some unforeseen causation(s)-- he fails.

An Aggie should know about this scenario all too well.

There is nothing more entertaining than reading threads from delusional fan bases to start your day. I'm sure it's fun for you guys to pretend that there are lines of rich LSU boosters waiting to give millions to fire Miles. After all, oil is what, $100 a barrel now? I'm sure they are doing as well as LSU financially. Of course the beaches of southern California can't compare with the gorgeous coast line of Louisiana. And whoever heard of a decent college player coming from California?

Why did you guys even want Jimbo last year? That would have been a huge waste of money. The guy has a national championship? So does Les. Jimbo won his because he had a phenomenally athletic quarterback. What has he done outside of the Winston years? Same story different school, remember a guy named Cam Newton? Even Gene Chizik won a national championship with an exceptional QB. Manziel made Sumlin look like a genius. Is he on anyone's most desired coach list now? What if LSU had hired Jimbo and he lost 63-20 on national television? Maybe Les and the team would do better if there weren't a bunch of idiot fans continuously talking about who they will get when they fire their coach that has one close loss this year. Yeah, go throw away $20M and hire a Jimbo or similar. See what you get. Houston is like a 4A high school playing in a 3A division. See how well Herman does playing the 6A schools.

Typically automatic deposit weekly.

They could write a check weekly but Herman is young and I am sure he understands the automatic banking process.

Florida St and Oklahoma ring any bells?

And the qb issue is funny at best. Herman has a former back up receiver playing qb now, and what is he doing with him?

My QB comment revolved around flash in the pan coaches like Jimbo, not Herman. In regards to those games, a Winstonless FSU and Choklahoma. No surprises there.

I think yes. Even though Houston is going into the Big12 I still think LSU has a shot since they can recruit well and are obviously in the SEC. That would be more appealing to Herman that money. But I still think we drop 5.5-6 to bring him here.

At Houston, he will never garner the respect that comes from winning like at a LSU/SEC

You forgot the example most pertinent to LSU's situation:

What was Brett Favre's college coaches name again? Moe? Larry?

...in any case, he was a stooge that Favre made look like a genius.
