Another year in the system. Word out of camp is Dak has improved his footwork, reading ability, and throws downfield. We will see when the season starts.

Word of mouth out of camps can be semi-reliable (or not), so I don't have a problem with that. I'm more interested in his supporting cast, though. He's going to be facing some pretty brutal run defenses this year, so he needs great pass protection and receivers with an ability to separate. What's the word on those?

You don't know what the word literally means.

Here's an example of correct usage.

Literally anytime Dan Mullen returns less than 16 starters, his team loses 5 or more games. This post was edited on 8/20 at 1:23 pm

We returned less than 16 last year you colossal fricking retard.

Line should be better, should being the key word. Returning starters at WR averaged 14.6, 16.3, and 16.6 YPC last year. Something like 80% of total receiving yards returning.

He scares me. He is a good player, and I have seen worse quarterbacks tear Auburn apart.

Huh. Assuming you're correct, I'm going to do something no SECR poster has done since the invention of the Internet and acknowledge you might have a point about your player being better this year.

I always found Bo more interesting to watch, but that's mostly because Dak was so workmanlike. But he's come a long way in his career. I remember when that OM fan made a hilarious thread about campus statues and included Dak.

You don't remember well though. That was Tyler Russell, and it was pretty spot on.

Oops, my bad. Sorry, they all look alike to me. I'm talking about MSU quarterbacks, for the record.

The State curse is his biggest obstacle. I don't think we've ever been happy with a senior QB. At least not in my memory.

Yeah, but when was the last time you had a senior qb with Dak's resume? I mean, it's Madkin and...? The curse will likely be broken not because of some special curse-breakin' technique but because of good old-fashioned talent and coaching.

Ok I won't say nightmares. We finished 10-3 last year. I think he gave a few people some harsh doses of reality. Wouldn't you agree?

Oh and, Dak would also be a legendary player for your bears, except, perhaps a bit more hyped up in the preseason.

I have a poster of Dak next to my bed and I softly kiss him on the cheek each night before I fall asleep.

Meh. We have 4 first round draft picks and outside of losing Wallace, we will be better.

No, it just isn't accurate. We replaced a QB, 2 OL, a RB, DE, LB, and a SS off the top of my head. And I'm pretty sure there is a DT I'm missing. That's a maximum of 14 returning starters. I don't really give a shite what Phil Steele says, I was in school and follow State every day, my number is just flat out accurate. Even if you try to make the argument that Dak settled in as a starter, and you shouldn't since Russell took back over later in the season, it's still a maximum of 15 returning starters.

ETA: Oh FFS, he includes K/P's. So count one more there, still fewer than 16.

2013 Starters lost:
OL: Charles Siddoway
OL: Gabe Jackson
RB: Ladarius Perkins
QB: Tyler Russell
DE: Denico Autry
LB: Deonte Skinner
SS: Jay Hughes
FS: Nickoe Whitley

22 - 8 = 14

Dak started 7 games in 2013... that would be the majority of them. You're just being disingenuous because you'd look like an idiot after your last post on the subject.

And the only reason Russell "took back over" was because Prescott injured his elbow against TAMU causing him to miss the Arkansas & Alabama game.

Are you getting dizzy trying to spin this?
quote:

SS: Jay Hughes
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, you know he started in 2014 as a SR, right?

2014 SENIOR SEASON: Team captain and starter at safety … Played in all 13 games with 12 starts … Notched 26 tackles, two pass breakups and two interceptions … Made long-awaited return to the field in season opener Aug. 30 vs. Southern Miss when he started at safety … Made his return a memorable one, recording his first career interception while also recovering a blocked field goal and returning it 68 yards for a touchdown … Collected three tackles in the nationally-televised win against No. 6 Texas A&M … Returned his second interception of the season for 18 yards in the Oct. 11 win against No. 2 Auburn … Made three solo tackles in the road win at Kentucky. … Credited with a season-high four tackles in the home win against Arkansas.

Didn't even know who your starting safety was.

Hey, add in those two players and how many returning starters did you have in 2014?

Still less than 16. You can't claim Dak was the starter and then use the opposite logic to claim Jameon Lewis was a starter this season. And yeah I got my years mixed up with Hughes.
