Except that the 93 loss marked the end of that era and took Miami down quite a few pegs. Spin it anyway you want, but I was there and it was a devastating loss for them and marked the end of an era.

They won three conference titles in a row after that game and were # 2 in the nation 7 years later and national champions 8 years later . Miami wasnt killed until Coker.
I said it marked the end of that era....and it definetely took the "swag" off them for awhile....but yeah no doubt, they had some incredibly talented teams in early 2000's....partcularly that 2001 team which won the title...maybe the most talented college team of all time...

Dynasties like UM and Bama are judged on National titles.

The Larry Coker years weren't the same "U"

This is a concept that Alabama people struggle to comprehend.

Well it wasn't a program killer quite like 21-0 was........
Posted on 12/15/14 at 10:54 am to lsupride87
the loss was significant in that it was the last of that generations championship runs that ended in a blowout loss

Only Updyke nation would think a football win is greater than toppling the Romans. QED, bitches.

And then they went 10-1, and then had sanctions from the NCAA. That killed that era, not alabama

This. Sanctions had a lot more to do with the brief fall of Miami than losing one game to Alabama.

They also don't mention the 85 Sugar Bowl when Johnny Majors made Jimmy Johnson bite the curb.

Bama didn't end the dynasty, it was Miami itself ending it with the cheating and getting caught.

Can't wait for Bama's beat down and the impending melt down of their trashy fan base.
