Alabama fans don't see LSU as a rival.

LSU is a big game, but our rivals are auburn and ut.

You're rivals with three other schools who have an instate rivalry that is more important to them than the one with LSU (admit it Ole Miss fans).

You're in the same boat as us with rivalries, you've just played some of those teams longer.

We are starting to hate LSU. We hate Ole Miss, as long as Nutt stays.

Who does Carolina have a rivalry with?

First off, Ole Miss fans (first hand experience btw) say we're more important then Miss State now. Also just in this past decade the LSU/Auburn rivalry has been more important then the UGA/Auburn.

We are definitely not in the same boat as Arkansas.

I've met plenty of Alabama fans (old and young) that view LSU as a rivalry game.

Arkansas is the answer to this question and it wouldn't be a lose/lose for the Arkansas program. Y'all fit the bill for the Big 12.

The only reason people say LSU vs Bama and LSU vs Auburn are rivalries is because for pretty much all of the 2000s it has been between those 3 teams competing for the West. I think Auburn/LSU would be considered more of a rivalry because of all the stuff back and forth (cigar smoking, and all of that kind of stuff). Bama/LSU is only considered a rival now because of Nick Saban, pretty much the same thing with Arky/Ole Miss. AU/UGA are rivals just because it is the "Deep South's Oldest" but I don't see rivalry hate in this game...but that is just my opinion.

But Arkansas has no true rivals in the SEC and it still feels funny having y'all around (imo). Arkansas belongs in the Big 12 and I believe would have much more success in the Big 12 (instead of being a middle of the road team in the SEC)

This really shows a lack of information on your part about Arkansas' history in the SWC. We had no rival there either. Sure, WE thought of texas as a rival, but they were more worried about OU and eATMe. Sound familiar? We want a rivalry with LSU, so we invent a boot, but they care more about OM or Bama.

There's actually more potential right now for developing a true rivalry with OM than we have probably ever had with any other team. The Nutt thing gives that series juice. Plus, we have a history of playing those guys in some pretty heated contests, dating back several decades.

For the sake of argument (ONLY) let's pro and con the Ark to the big 12, shall we?

Pros:
1. Less travel time to some locations, like Stillwater, Columbia, and Norman
2. Inferior competition provides better opportunity to win.

Cons:
1. Significantly less money in big 12
2. No ESPN tv contract where every game is on tv
3. Lubbock
4. big 12 fans less informed and less passionate
5. Chicks in Manhattan KS, Lincoln NE, Columbia MO, etc not same caliber as chicks in Oxford, Athens, Auburn, etc.
6. No Golden Girls in Big 12
7. We play a game at JerryWorld each year so we are re-establishing a recruiting presence there without having to join their inferior league
8. Playing in the SEC gives us a chance to play a top-10 team about every other week. In big 12 you're lucky to get that shot once a season.

This is true, but where do you rank in their rivalry pecking order? 2nd for Ole Miss behind Miss State, 3rd for Auburn behind Bama and Georgia, and 3rd for Bama behind Auburn and Tennessee.

I like not having a huge rivalry game though. I've seen some posters say stuff like "I don't care if we go 1-11 as long as we beat ____", which is ridiculous.

The LSU/Ole Miss rivalry is old and there is plenty of hate. It's a better rivalry than Texas/Ark.
Another Arky fan who doesn't understand long standing SEC rivalries.

Clemson, obviously. Along with in-conference rivalries with UGA and UTe. We have been playing UGA regularly well before we joined the SEC.

We don't have much of a rivalry with y'all, even though the Hawgs are our permanent West opponent. That is because, with the distance between the two schools, we have little interaction between our fanbases.

Arkansas has no rival comparable to Carolina's rivalry with Clemson.

From what i've seen, LSU fans seem to not give a shite about Ole Miss(no offense, Ole Miss). Ole Miss seems to hate LSU more than LSU hates Ole Miss. And for the most part, LSU has dominated them this decade.

Not nearly as weak as your reading comprehension. The whole point of the post was that Arkansas DOES NOT have a true rival in the SEC, NOR did we have one in the SWC. The whole point of the post, Stephen Hawking, is that a trophy and a name do not a rivalry make.

Now, one fanbase running off a coach while a school in a border state snatches him up can be the stuff of rivalry. A long history in a closely contested series can be the stuff of rivalry. But all of that takes time to build up. It's possible a nice feud with OM is brewing, but we will never break the old guard of rivalries that have built up for generations like LSU v OM has.

As for LSU, we can hope to fuel a good "new" rivalry with LSU. I think we have done some things in recent years to help that along. The Miracle on Markham (v1 and v2) has helped. LSU beating us to give us our 1 SEC loss in 2006 was a good step. Miles popping off about us, causing DMac to "brang dat Wuud" helped. Any time LSU and Arkansas can either meet in that last game to decide the West, or one plays spoiler to the other, then it helps build the rivalry.

Still, Arkansas will just never have the kind of rival that exists like UA/AU, ClemPson/USC, tx/OU, FU/UGA. It's just not ever going to happen.

It's LSU/Ole Miss, this rivalry stretches over 5 or 6 decades. This really isn't that difficult to understand....

You're trying to come up with ways to say " LSU is in the same boat with Arkansas" But to your delusion we're not and have never been.
