Didn't he say UNTIL this week?

EDIT: Here is what he actually said:
ON AUBURN’S OFFENSIVE GAME PLAN COMING INTO SATURDAY: Well, obviously I don’t feel like it was an effective one. I didn’t get too involved in it for most of the part until this week because of recruiting, and really wanted to kind of evaluate everything about our program.

One word can make a big difference.

The week started on the 25th, boss. The entire week prior was a dead period. That would have given him two weeks to prepare.

Writing letters, sending texts and making phone calls are all permitted.

Buddy, how long were his phone calls to take up from sun up to sun down for an entire two weeks?

Was he writing letters with a quill?

Oh, yes. In the great purge - which essentially killed the board. I was one of the big fish, and such a pity. I’m a genuinely nice guy, too.

It's a long story, but basically Dye got fricked over by a turncoat traitor player named Eric Ramsey.

Interestingly, Bama also got in trouble around this time for the Gene Jelks stuff.

Jelks later admitted he was paid by Auburn boosters to lie about that.

It's a long story, but basically Dye got fricked over by a turncoat traitor player named Eric Ramsey. He called Dye and his assistants asking for money and then recorded the convos. Remember, this was the late 80's and recording a phone call took equipment, which makes one wonder who put him up to it. Why is a 19 year old college football player recording his coaches? Why did he have a lawyer before most of this went down? Why would you try and take down the HC who gave you a scholly and was agreeing to commit violations to help you financially (after you asked)? Why did he go to 60 Minutes and give them the tapes? Who was behind it, really?

and you believe Ramsey set up Dye, and only received some groceries ?

I guess all that was fate anyway, because in the long term it worked out great for Alabama and not good for Auburn !
