I get he needs to secure these high school kids because theyre the future, but he needs proof of concept. Having a losing season and shitting the bed throughout the season shortens his leash considerably
Freeze may be a good recruiter, but this is poor program management

Auburn fans, can you please help elaborate?
Coaches are still allowed to call, text, FaceTime recruits - just no in-person contact. You know, like Saban had in-person contact with USC’s Jackson in the dead period when Jackson met him at their practices.

Auburn spends their resources on recruiting, trying to create shallow hype, and trying to beat Bama. Thats about it.

So you’re saying Freeze just stayed on the phone for 8 hours at a time with recruits like two high school sweethearts saying “no YOU hang up!” Does Lee County still use old school operators that move at a snails pace?

Bama’s practices? Thats perfectly legal if it falls under “quiet period”.

But it is currently the dead period so it doesn’t.
The quiet period for Alabama begins 1 January.

I have absolutely zero first hand knowledge on how a FBS college football recruiting operation works but I seriously doubt there is absolutely nothing you can do during the dead period that involves recruiting. The dedicated recruiting staff doesn’t get sent home for 3 weeks. Unless he says I did X, Y, Z and those are prohibited recruiting activities, there is nothing to act on.

Just getting the hos on speed dial. All that meant.

They can call, FaceTime, and I’m assuming send letters. Was freeze spending all his spare time practicing calligraphy on postcards instead of game planning? How could any of the above take an entire month to do?

Oh boy, do I have news for you about Hugh Freeze’s coaching history.

Freeze is entertainment. Combined with Auburn, a comedy act.

Freeze bought a large share of Boost mobile. It guaranteed him a lifetime supply of burner phones.

Freeze said when he came he would be transparent. Most coaches don’t do that but it is what it is. With the opt outs I think a lot of coaches are focused more on the transfer portal and filling needs during this time than bowl games than they should be. They cannot make contact but they can be making plans for Option A, B, C etc.

I mean, you hire Freeze because of his offensive game plans. Otherwise, you don't really need him. That's just a dumb comment that he made. Their defensive game plan sucked even worse though.

Don’t need burner phones anymore. We let him use the university phone

However, Auburn hired him for both. If he isnt calling the plays, he is an just your average coach, Gus 2.0

Auburn Cheats. So, yeah.
He’s a piece of trash hired because he has no qualms breaking rules to win at any cost. His lack of ethics makes him a perfect fit for Auburn and their zealot boosters and trash fan base.
