Go see my posts re: Bama. At some point the SEC riding Bama'd coattails.

They have all of one SEC title since 2010. You know that championship game you don't get voted into. They are also 2-5 against the top SEC teams since 2010. Yeah riding coattails.

I said at some point. If Bama 3 peats the conversation needs to change from the SEC to Bama.

I like Mora, but Stanford is a better team.

USCw has the most variance in win/loss total of any team in the country. They could be the PAC - 12 champs or go 6-6. I don't know you can proclaim anything about them.

Kennard and Breslin could be a terror in that 5-2 defense and the offense has loads of potential. Kiffin can coach well at times but is inconsistent and that is probably what we'll get from their qb as well. Who the hell knows though?

Possibly, it'll be interesting to see the QB play and how that turns out. I'm kind of pessimistic on them so far. Yeah, it's early

Ah, but potential...Kiffin can be an issue and I agree we should wait and see. Personally, I don't see 6-6, but more like 8-4 for them.

I see 6-6 if they have a key injury. Remember when Holmes went out last year. Their oline was a disaster. Hobbi got pushed back 3 yards on every play.

Why? At one point people were saying the same thing about Florida. And LSU. I mean IF Bama wins their third straight (And they just might) it doesn't mean the rest of the SEC is weak. Since 1998 (15 years) the SEC has won 9 National Titles. NINE out of the last 15!!! Out of those nine they were won by 5 different schools. Care to name any other Conference that has done this throughout history?

You are assuming that Bama is the only team from the SEC that could have won a title in those years. I disagree. Georgia could have beaten Notre Dame last year and won the National Title. (We were ranked #3when we played Bama for the SEC Championship..they were #2)

In 2008 AND in 2009 Alabama played Flordia for the SEC Title. At the time they were ranked #1 and #2 in the nation. Make no mistake about it, when Alabama eventually fades the SEC has Georgia, Florida, LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M waiting to step up. Auburn and Tennessee is struggling right now, but they are beginning to come back.

No problem. It's hard to follow these threads sometimes! I should have made it clearer.

Seriously? You were JUST making fun of Texas A&M, and Okie St. beat them 30-29. Do you REALLY want to go there?

Okie St gave up 30 or more points 5 times and one of those was over 40, PLUS they got beat by Iowa STATE!

I don't recall saying anything about Texas A&M. I don't like the Aggys because I think their fans are weird as frick, but Sumlin is a great coach.

I saw Florida play Mizzou, UGA, and Louisville and came away very unimpressed. I know they also threw out some clunkers against Bowling Green and Louisiana. In 2011, Okie State led the nation in turnovers (or was right around the top). As bad as Driskell is, I think he would throw several picks and you can't turn the ball over against the Pokes. Not to mention, Louisville shredded the Gator defense with FAR inferior talent than Okie State had in 2011.

The point is that the "Okie Lite" defense had some playmakers and forced turnovers. Jeff Driskel was so bad that there is no way they score more than 21-24 points. OSU would have covered that by halftime.

Really. You DO know that NOBODY scored as many as 24 points on Florida all last year, don't you?

My apologies. It was SMS151t that was talking about A&M.

Perhaps you were unimpressed, because of their offense. And, I agree. It was anemic. I think every Gator on here would admit that, too. However, their defense was on another planet...it was stifling at best.

And don't sell the Gators short. Against LSU they got the lead and ran the ball against the Tigers, who had an EXCELLENT defense.

We can play "what if" all day long...and frankly, I don't like being put in the position of defending the Gators!

BOTH Florida and Okie State had excellent years in 2011 and 2012. Personally, I would have enjoyed watching Okie St. play in the National Title game their year. I always like to watch high powered offenses, and they certainly had that!

My bad...Florida St. scored 26 and Louisville 36. Boy, am I embarrassed!

But keep in mind, that the strength of that Seminole team was defense and Florida scored 37 on them, so the potential was definitely there. (There I go again. I will refrain from saying anything positive about Florida from here on out!)

Sorry to make you defend Florida

That would be like me defending Pitt

Either way, I agree it would have been a great game to watch. Best of luck this year.

Same to you, man! I think everybody is pumped up for the season. Seems like forever since we've had some football. How is WV looking this year?

It will be interesting. Our QB, Clint Trickett transferred from Florida State this offseason. We have 3-4 good RBs including JUCO Dreamius Smith and Houston transfer Charles Sims. WR is never a problem for Dana and we have some young talent.

The defense was so bad last year that many of us think it can go only get better.

I think 7-5 will be a good season this year, next year they should compete for the Big 12 title

Well, good luck. Your defense definitely did you in last year. It was a tough year for you considering the year started out with high expectations. Unfortunately, it usually takes a year or two to recover from disappointing seasons.

Good luck to you!

Same to you

We start off with the annual arse raping of an FCS school, then head to Oklahoma week 2. Will find out quickly about this team.
