Don't bring up the Stanford vs ND game because Stanford changed QBs shortly after, and were instantly a very good team

Plus they got robbed on that goal line call at the end

NCG should have been Florida vs Bama.

ND got Ref help. Shoot even tOSU got help for their unbeaten season with a mind blowing call against Cal to save their butts.

I want a vote recount. I live in Florida, I can ask for these things!

I know it's not the best pic, but you can see #33 is almost elbow deep in the end zone.

Florida had the top SOS and was number 3 in the BCS. If ND was given the loss like they should have been, it would have been UF vs Bama. True fact.

And what the frick happens to Stanford if they beat ND? That changes everything.

Glad we didn't have to suffer through that as CFB fans.

They had already lost to Washington hadn't they? And Stanford's SOS was weaker than UF's. Remember the computers had UF very, very high. People forget how tough the SOS was we played.

I didn't say it was right. But if that lose was given to ND, the computers put Florida in most likely. shite we beat more ranked teams than Bama and Georgia combined during the regular season. Not like we didn't at least deserve a shot at the argument.

Not the top 5 or 6.

Alabama
Texas A&M
LSU
Florida
SouCar
Georgia

I think any of these could beat any team in the country. Not saying they WILL beat every team OOC, but they could very well beat anybody. Give us a few more years (3-4) and you might be able to add

Auburn
Tennessee
Arkansas
Ole Miss

Stanford has a win over a one loss ND and a one loss Oregon team. Florida belonged in the conversation but after the LSU/BAMA rematch, I'd hope the humans would bury you far enough to make that not happen again.

Hard to argue that point. Florida lost only to us, and that game could have gone either way.

The ONLY thing that hurts your argument is that stinking loss to Louisville.

I do too.

Wish Shaw would put an end to the #partyinthebackfield garbage. Just comes off as arrogance to me. Sounds like something you'd expect form USCw, not Stanford.

Why? I could never understand that argument. I mean, can you name anyone in the nation that was better than Alabama or LSU? They were the two best teams in the country. I thought the whole point was to have the two best teams play for the Natty. That year, Bama and LSU were the best, and frankly, I don't see how anybody could argue that point.

If Stanford played those 6 teams in one season, they would win some of those games. Not all of them, but some. I think their record would look very similar to any of these 6 teams put to the same task.

The case for LSU/BAMA is better than the Florida last year. However, Bama already lost to LSU and someone else should've been given a shot. That is just my opinion.

Meaning that 5 SEC teams would beat Stanford. Does that sound like a Contender to you?

No offense, but right now the SEC is hands down the best conference in the country. Who knows...maybe in a few years it will be the PAC, or ACC, or B1G, or somebody else. But right now it is the SEC. Has been for a few years, and it doesn't LOOK like an end in sight.....but things can also change in a hurry.

Well I agree with Bama shouldn't have been in the title game BUT I would also say they were the best team in football. However, Oklahoma State had done more in terms of SOS for the spot. So I didn't think it was fair. I won't argue who the best team was that year though cause the Bama defense was near mythic proportions. Florida lost to Georgia, beat LSU, Aggies, FSU, and USCe. I think that argument is much stronger than Stanfords.

By "this years Notre Dame" do you mean wildly overrated and destined to be destroyed by an SEC team in the title game?

Actually no. Florida had a stronger SOS than Bama. If the case of ND losing happened, Florida had a stronger argument than Bama did actually. However, like I said before. I thought Oklahoma State deserved to go. So it doesn't contradict that Florida should have at least really have been considered.
