I am glad we didn't play Bama last year. Kyle Long at guard was getting better with every game and we were stout on the OLINE (probably slightly better than we will be this year). However, our 2's on the DL were all true frosh. This year our dline will be the best unit of the team. With Bama losing some beef up front, I would rather see us face them this year.

I actually think Bama's Defense will be slightly improved and their offense a lot improved over last year. I MIGHT be in the minority on this....but they will have a stronger team this year than last. My opinion only. (And we ALL know what my opinion is worth!)

Bama's defense was young last year too. If you watched them vs LSU, Georgia, and the Aggies. You would have noticed some confusion in the secondary on a few plays that probably won't be there this year.

Bama's defense should be better than last year because they are more experienced.

Bama is loaded up with skill guys but their oline will be notch lower. I take playing better skill guys than an OL. Oregon has two elite cover guys at CB.

Maybe so, but you will just have to trust me when I say that Alabama is one team that truly does reload and not rebuild. And Amari Cooper will be along the lines of AJ Green and Julio Jones...and maybe even better. Their running backs? Crap. Alabama took 3 or 4 of the best prospects in the nation last signing to go along with Yeldon. PLENTY of fresh legs.

One magazine I have rates Alabama's OL as 4th best in the country behind Stanford, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Also, Alabama WILL go deep on you, but more often than not they love to dump short passes off to their play makers. Again....THEY WILL GO DEEP from time to time.

FWIW, Oregon's secondary is rated #2 behind TCU's!

The will have a good OL for sure. That oline last year was on another level.

I cannot understand this when Oregon has 3 1st team all pac selections. Head scratcher.

The underrated unit is the DL. They are getting top 20 preseason ranking but I expect them to be much better by the year's end.

Is anyone really concerned about losing to Stanford?

Part of the ability to beat a school is playing often enough to be used to them. It is interesting to note that Stanford did not start playing Georgia Tech and Tulane till after they left the SEC. Here is Stanford vs the SEC :

Alabama : 0-1-1 : last played in 1935 when they still let the SEC win the Rose Bowl
Arkansas : 1-0-0 : last played in 1970 when Hogs were in SWC
Auburn : never played
Florida : never played
Georgia : 1-0-0 : last played in 1978 when the SEC had 10 members
Kentucky : never played
Louisiana State : 1-0-0 : last played in 1977 when the SEC had 10 members
Ole Miss : never played
M State : never played
Missouri : 1-0-0 : last played in 1971 when Mizzou was in the Big 8
South Carolina : never played
Tennessee : never played
Texas A&M : 0-1-0 : last played in 1992 when TAMU was in the SWC
Vanderbilt : never played

With no exposure to the SEC since the 1970's my feeling is the SEC would rape the Cardinal worse than the Tide raped the Irish.

What it says is that Stanford being #4 with Oregon not in the top 5 that they should have more selections - idiot.

1. ND was jobbed earlier in that qtr by a non fumble on the Stanford 10 being called a fumble
2. He was in AFTER they stopped forward momentum and whistle blew

Enough facts

Specific teams from the PAC B1G and Big XII can beat any SEC teams especially Stanford, tOSU, and OU. People undervalue these teams because they played the best in SEC in one game. That being said put them in SEC they could compete if not win. A horrid Big XII team proved it last year.

Because 2011 Oklahoma State would have beaten the breaks off of 2012 Florida. I was far from impressed with Florida's QB play

My post had nothing to do with Stanford......or your OL not being ranked as high. You tout your 3 All Pac players like anyone here gives a flying frick about your conference or your team.

You want us to care....make it to the Championship game and win your first damn title.

Sorry. I missed this! Oregon's OL is rated 8th in the nation! May not be as good as you'd hoped, but it's still pretty darn good!

Seriously? I mean...SERIOUSLY?

Ohio State just got beat by Florida AND Alabama handily in THEIR shot at the Natty. And Oregon got beat by LSU recently, so don't say those teams can beat any SEC team. They haven't proven that they can beat ANY SEC team.
And since Stanford hasn't played any of us...well...all you have is speculation. But, since they couldn't beat any like opponents, (See Notre Dame) I think you have a moot point.

A horrid Big XII team proved it last year.

TAMU? They finsihed 5th in our conference. If you call that competing...well....ok.
Oh, and that "horrid" Big XII team? They beat the crap out of the Big XII champions, last year.....you know, the horrid team that finished 5th in the SEC?

I don't think I would have used that example if I was you!
