Well, your friend is wrong. There's a reason that Jerry Palm is currently giving Bama 2 computer polls and not 3 (he's counting Wolfe as the second)

You don't have to win your conference to be ranked ahead of another team. What do you not understand about Oregon having 2 losses? While Stanford only has 1. And just because we haven't agreed on two things doesn't mean I'm a tool.

Well, you are already back 1 game and so is OSU. You would be playing catchup.
LSU 13-0 = 13 games
UA/OSU 11-1 = 12 games
Winner would be at 13 games.

When there are only 12 or so games to go by in ranking teams you have to weight losses very heavily. Clemson lost to some shittastic teams it's nobody's fault but theirs.

So Alabama has 42 2nd place votes and 17 3rd place
(42x24+17x23=1399). Flip that for OSU (42x23+17x24=1374, a little more than 1369 so there are some 4th place votes factored in.)
Anyways Edwards has said with 2 computers placing Bama at 2, OSU needs about 40% of the voters. 17/59 = 29% so OSU needs a LOT of help from Harris poll.
