I will admit at first look bamas titles look pretty shady but after some research there is at least 13 solid ones.

Why didn't Alabama and Arkansas just play in the SEC Championship Game I don't get it Pawl
We know from experience that a previous head-to-head match-up wouldn't have decided the issue.

What about our 1919 and 1927 titles?
Hahahaha, no clue. The conferences basically just played conference games back then. I probably wouldn't say Alabama should be given those Titles in the 20's if they hadn't gone out West and beaten the Western champs in the Rose Bowl, but who knows.

I've always heard this had a lot to do with the voting that season.

The Sooners have been AP's national champion seven times and have prevailed in the coaches' poll another six. Oklahoma's most recent national championship, won in the 2000 season, came under the BCS format. Prior to the introduction of the BCS, the polls were the mode used to select college football's best team. Regardless of the method, OU has been a regular player on the national title scene.

BCS Championships
The BCS system has been in place since the 1998 football season. On June 26, 2012, it was announced that the Bowl Championship Series will be replaced by a four-team playoff, effective for the 2014-15 season.
Oklahoma offically recognizes several of Bama's championships and those don't include the Rose Bowl championships before the AP in 1936. LINK

Maybe quietly drop 1941 and add the perfect season of 1945.
While I wouldn't claim either of 'em, I think we have a better argument for '66 and '77 than '45. That '45 Army team was stacked...2 Heisman Trophy winners and they beat 4 teams in the top 10, 6 in the top 20...their closest game was against #3 Navy and they beat them by 19...the armed service academies had the best athletes during the WWII years...

Maybe that helped change things and ultimately was a good thing but it wasn't right to put all that crap on a football team that busted it's arse all year.

There's two things Alabama and Arkansas have in common. They were split national champions in 1964 and they enjoy pummeling Les Miles and LSU every year.
