I'd say Bo was the greatest athlete of the modern era...lookin' all time, I'd have to go with Jim Thorpe first, and then maybe Bo second...

As far as being a running back goes, Bo was the fastest I can remember but there were others that impressed me more with their running skills. Walter Payton, Gale Sayers and Barry Sanders come to mind.

In college no one can touch Herschel as the best RB ever. Not even a close second.

In the pros there are several who were better than Bo.

Absolute horse shite. He may have been hurt and pulled himself. If you ever saw him play, you would know he dished out more punishment than he took....on most occasions. But even Bo got hurt every now and then.

A Tennessee team that finished 9-1 beat an AU team that finished 8-4 in Knoxville. Bo suffered a severe knee bruise in the third quarter when he was averaging almost 5 yards a carry and well on his way to a about 120 yards rushing.

It's funny when that is what the haters hang their hat on. Some Atm fans like to say how their best defense ever stopped Bo for only 180 something all purpose yards in the 85 cotton bowl. Or some bama fans when they held him to 156 rushing yards in the iron bowl where he played with two cracked ribs.

That is how good Bo was, when that is all you can hang your hat on as opposition.

He did it twice in 1985.

He did it at Tennessee, and if I'm not mistake the defensive line at Ole Miss made him take a seat. I know there was one other game he pulled himself.

At UT he decided he was 'sick'. That sickness struck him after he got popped hard a few times in a row.

He was supposed to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated that week. They changed the cover and put Tony Robinson on it.

Your shtick is getting old. You sound like a broken record.......not to mention that you are full of shite. How do you know "he pulled himself" instead of "he was hurt and taken out of the game"?

Dude played with cracked ribs for goodness sake.

I watched the game. DUH!

Bo wasn't hurt. He told Pat Dye he "didn't feel well.

My God! What a fricking moron.

You don't think it was discussed and rehashed six ways from Sunday why the supposed best player in the game suddenly left the game with his team losing?

The so-called greatest VOLUNTARILY PULLED HIMSELF from the game while his team was losing.

Here, you idiot. Watch the game. 80 yards and Bo had enough.

Tennessee vs Auburm 1985. Bo Jackson decides he had enough after rushing for 80 yards.

Has Deion Sanders been mentioned in this thread? Only perso to hit a major league home run and score an NFL TD in the same week.

Only person to play in a World Series and Super Bowl.

Yes, and when he pulled himself at the UT game they said 'hurt knee', but the next day the papers said he told Pat Dye he didn't feel well.

Like it or not. He pulled himself. The medical trainers did not pull him. The coaches did pull him. He pulled himself....while his team was losing.

The defensive line at Ole Miss made Bo take a seat huh?

Ok, time to show how stupid you are.

AU vs Ole Miss 1985...

LINK

Bo went for 240 yards in a 41-0 blowout.

But yeah, Ole Miss made him quit I suppose.

What did I say, moron? Reading comprehension not your strong suit?

I made it clear I was not sure if it was Ole Miss.

I am 100% of positive of one thing.

He VOLUNTARILY sat his arse down at UT. His choice. Not the coaches. Not the medical staff. Big Bad Bo had enough that day.

As a running back Bo Jackson couldn't carry Herschel Walker's jockstrap, much less greatest athlete of all-time.

You're not sure about anything.

I on the other hand am sure you're an idiot.

And btw, I know the second game you are referring to. Bo left in the second quarter, late and AU had the lead. Same injury, same knee. He came back in the game in the 4th quarter for a few plays to act as a decoy for fullwood.

I am sure of two things. You are a butthurt moron and Bo Jackson is nowhere near the greatest athlete of all-time. He wasn't even the greatest SEC running back of all-time.

EDIT: Third thing I'm sure of.

Dale Jones and Company made Bo decide the best view of the game in Neyland, was from the sidelines.
