I went. It's terrible hockey.
If your expectations were Eddie Shore old time hockey then you were probably disappointed.
If you went to enjoy the spirit of the game and the competition then you had a good time.
In true Rantard you were expecting Gordie and Eddie weren't you?

Wouldn't UAH be better off shutting down the hockey program and starting a football program?
And end up like UAB? No.

I'm on my phone so somebody do me a favor and link this joker to the recent Crimson & White article about the UA board of trustees constantly screwing over UAB athletics and holding them back.
TIA

There is absolutely no reason a commuter school should have football.

Agree. I went to UAB. They made a mistake getting into football. It's a world class medical college. Stick to that and sports that will be supported.

I remember there being talk that the program was being eliminated due to funding cuts despite them having one of the best in the country. Maybe the REC changed their mind?
No you don't. There were never funding cuts, dumbass. They lost their conference.

Who'd thunk Bama hockey would bring out the NtY'ers?

It doesn't take much, I guess. You'd think that with schools being back in session, they'd all be at their assigned posts using telephoto lenses in the parking lots....

Football would be supported if the BOTs would approve anything.
Jimbo Fishers contract would have been completely paid for by alumni and booster. It was turned down by the Trustees because they said it was too much money for a coach, yet months later they approve the largest coaching contract in the country for Saban.
Same deal for he stadium, would have been completely paid for by alumni and boosters, yet was turned down by the BOT for no good reason.

No. It wouldn't. UAB is a commute school, most loyalties to football have, and always will reside with Bama and Auburn. They have a crap stadium to play in. They will and never could compete in Div 1. It's idiotic to think they could. They should have stayed in lower Division if they wanted to continue playing.

Because UAB football would be a bigger money pit. You have grand illusions of grandeur about a program that will never be, and hasn't the potential to ever be.

Who is UAT to decided what's possible for another schools athletic program???? How would you guys feel about UAH or UAB dictating how much Saban's contract is???

Actually they have a lot more students living on campus now, with the right coach it wouldn't be hard for them to win CUSA

As a guy who lives in huntsville, a football team would be a really, really bad idea.

Seriously answer the question, why are Bama fans the most vocal about anything having to do with UAB athletics???

Define a lot living on campus. And in relation to what?
They could win it every year for a decade, and they would never average 20K, real life fans in the stands.

Seriously.. Auburn fans are UAB's biggest supporters. That includes, over UAB alum.

UAB screwed the pooch by not staying relevant in basketball. They had a niche and let it waste away. THAT, had support.
