Final Alabama 9 - Auburn 1.
The arena was pretty full. A lot of Auburn fans left after the 2 be period though.

Horrible comparison.
Birmingham Barons started playing in 1887, UAB as FBS, in 1996.
being around since 1887 didn't help their attendance any when they were playing at the Hoover Met.
Nobody in Alabama gives a shite about baseball, but people are going to the games because it's something fun to do downtown. Alabama is a college football state, people will go see a winner. Troy, USA, UNA, even Jacksonville State all get solid student and hometown crowds for the sizes of their programs, because they win.

I believe the Compass Bowl proves people will still show up at Legion Field as well.
You're actually proving my point that people will show up to watch winners. Two programs that have been winning the past couple of years, 8 win Houston vs 9 win Vandy in a postseason bowl game is a bad comparison for a regular season game between 2-10 UAB vs 1-11 Southern Miss.

They could have both been 11-0 going into that game, the attendance was going to be terrible when it's up against 11-0 Alabama vs 10-1 Auburn.

Schedule the game eariler. Problem solved. There is 1.3 million people in the Birmingham metro. Some of them won't go to the game and will want something to do before the game. If there is overlap in game time then you have bad attendance for one game or people leave at halftime.
If you put the proposed 30,000 seat stadium on University and UAB had a good football team, there would be at least a couple sellouts every season. A good UAB team vs a good Troy team would be a big draw in Birmingham. Same with South Alabama and Southern Miss, both have a lot of alumni in the area. Memphis and MTSU could also draw solid crowds in a 30k stadium in Birmingham.

Exactly the same thing is happening in La. UL-L (haha) used to suck and their attendance was bad but still hanging around 20k, the past few seasons they have been good (for a sun belt team) and their attendance is up around 25-30K. People come to see winners period.

Was there a good crowd again tonight? We stayed home, made dinner and watched a movie.

We're at the match today. Pretty decent turnout even though the series has already been decided.

I think they said there were 3,800 there last night.

I read it was a bama hockey record for attendance. Does the team get to keep that money to use for expenses? I don't know how club teams work.

6-0 bama with 11 minutes left in the 2nd period.

Auburn was the official "Home Team" this weekend but Alabama has better support so they were able to get Auburn to come here rather than play at Auburns "Home Ice" in Columbus, GA.
Tickets are normally $5 but this weekend they upped it to $10. Auburn get $5 and Alabam get $5. The money goes to pay expense for both teams including venue costs and travel.

Alabama will host the SECHC Conf Tourny on Feb 7, 8, 9 in Pelham. Tickets will be $8 to $10 for a "Day pass" to all games that day.
