You sure seem to be putting in a lot of stock for a 4 week window while ignoring a large part of the season because it favors your team.
How a team is playing going into the post-season (i.e. last 4-6 weeks) factors much more heavily in seeding than how they looked early in the season.
Unless Arky wins the SEC tourney I don't think they have a shot to host. aTm is on the bubble right now, and will be on the outside looking in unless they sweep OM and make a run in the tourney.
ETA: Referring to aTm as a national seed.

Even with "basically" i still cannot agree at all. They're "basically" a national seed lock. I dont think they're even close to "basically" a lock for the overall #1 seed. Not yet. Maybe if they go 3-1 this week I'll come on board.

I guess we can agree to disagree.

but they aren't basically, either
USCe is in a down year but this will be an emotional series for them IMO...and I don't put anything past the voters, I could see LSU anywhere from 1-3 as of right now.

Agree and is what I said. I think they're still on the right side for now, but they need to beat OM. I don't think they have to sweep them assuming A&M beats Sam midweek.

yeah aggies need to finish strong for the super
teams that tailspin at the end of the year aren't as likely to get the benefit of the doubt against a team with the same record that finished hot..obviously for multiple reasons.

I dont think A&M has to sweep Ole Miss either to stay on the right side of the national seed bubble. If they win the series i think they would be a national seed if the season ended right there (not counting the conference tourney).

This four week window is how all teams close the season.
For instance, last week Auburn was a lock for being a regional team. Not so much now. They've got a tough series at Florida this weekend and could very well finish 13-17 in league play or 12-18. Now, they're far from a lock.
Four weeks ago aTm was a shoe in for a national seed. Since, they've lost 3/4 series(2 @ home) and two Big Ten teams have been reeling off wins left and right.
The end of the year means a lot.

I know, I was agreeing with you.

aTm is on a bit of a skid and will need a very strong finish to be a national seed IMO. If aTm doesn't have a strong showing vs. OM, and then in the tourney, I think the voters will have a "hotter" team with a slightly lesser resume host.

well that's not true. If LSU went 0-6 to finish the season they would not be the #1 national seed. I dont think that would happen, but if it did they wouldnt be #1. Hence not a lock.
Lighten up,Francis. This isn't a court room. Guy finally says something nice about LSU baseball you challenge him and get pedantic knowing full well what he means.

This week DBU has a midweek game against Oklahoma State that could go a long way to their seeding. DBU has not beaten anyone with a decent record in a series.

I still don't see them as a super seed. The RPI is nice and all, but the eye test of looking at a schedule has to come into play here. As of right now, I'd say this as my Top 8 (not that it matters or anyone cares ):
1. LSU
2. UCLA
3. Louisville
4. Illinois
5. TCU
6. Florida State
7. Texas A&M
8. Florida
Miami and Vandy on the bubble with Dallas Baptist right behind those two.

Baptist is #1 in RPI and has a SOS of 21
They're fine.

Will be interesting to see how UF and Vandy do this weekend. They are both in position for a national seed but I think only 1 gets it.
LSU, UF, Vandy and aTm are in line for national seeds, likely only 2 end up with 1, but all 4 could make good arguments is especially if Vandy/UF/aTm all win their series.

I don't get how they're still #1. They played TCU HOW LONG AGO?

yeah the 6-8 will be very interesting to see
about 7 teams seem to be vying for that spot right now

This is something people need to realize. They aren't going to let 4 SEC teams host, no matter what the records and RPI say. Hell, it's unlikely they will let 3 host.

It is definitely a curious case. I have followed them fairly closely this year and have been rooting for them. They aren't going to win their conference (non power) and their biggest weekend series win is Bradley, but they have played a who's who midweek including @A&M, @TCU, v TCU, @OU, v OU, @OSU, v OSU. No #1 RPI has even not been a national seed.
