A few thoguhts.
LSU basically locked up #1 national seed no matter what happens this weekend.
Texas A&M went from secure to on the national seed bubble. Ags need to beat Ole Miss or make a deep run in the SECT to feel safe again.
Florida went from somewhat solid to banging on the door for a national seed with a huge series win over Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt went from good side of the national seed bubble to bad side.
Whatever small chance Arkansas & Auburn had at hosting, it is pretty much over now.
Mizzou might have messaed around and played itself out of the tournament. They're 27-27 with an RPI outside of 50.
South Carolina does not want their streak to end. They took 2/3 from A&M and if they can take 2/3 from LSU they're a decent SECT run from making a regional IMO.

well that's not true. If LSU went 0-6 to finish the season they would not be the #1 national seed.

I dont think that would happen, but if it did they wouldnt be #1. Hence not a lock.

LSU needs to win the USCe series to lock up the #1.

Well they don't have 6 game left, they have 4. If they were to go 0-3 this weekend, I think 44-11 (19-10) with their wins would be enough in my eyes. May or may not happen. I doubt we'll find out.

I know Tanner didn't care about the SEC tourney. I wonder if their new coach does?

How often was Tanner playing for his tournament life in the SECT?

You're not even factoring in conference tourneys.

This is what's wrong with assumptions from people who suck at following CBB.

LSU absolutely doesn't have the #1 overall locked up right now. In a good spot, yes, but not "locked" up.

aTm is out as a national seed at this point. Losing 3 of their last 4 series damn near cements that in. Would need to win Ole Miss series and hope some competition for top 8 loses.

Arkansas still has a chance to host, as Kendall Rogers has pointed out.

I am well aware. I said "this weekend". That is clearly refering to the USCe series and not the midweek and SECT. C'mon brah.

A&M is far from out of it and Ark has no chance unless they go and win out.

That matters not. I didnt question your timetable, just that you said they have the #1 seed locked up. They do not and showed you why. You thought you would be cute and catch me not knowing how many games my own team has left. But it was clear to everyone else i was counting the sec tourney.

I cringed reading this thread. If he had said LSU has a national seed locked up, I would have agreed. No way LSU has the top overall seed locked up. Still have to look good for that with teams like Louisville and UCLA playing really well. Personally, of all the teams, I want UCLA on the other side of the bracket when it comes down to final seeding. If LSU gets the top seed, there's a very good chance that happens with them getting 2 or 3.

I'm going to assume this is what farmer meant to post in the OP.

Saying the #1 overall seed is locked up with a weekend series and conference tourney left to play is a little premature.

If LSU wins 2 games @ USCe I would say LSU might be a lock for the #1 overall seed.

aTm has lost 3/4 series to close out the season. It's going to be damn hard for aTm to be a national seed if everyone else keeps winning. Especially with a couple Big Ten teams coming on strong here at the end.

As Kendall Rogers has been pointing out, Arkansas has a legit chance to host. Arkansas is 16-5 in its lst 21 league games and could finish with 18 SEC wins overall. Not even factoring in 2-3 SEC tourney wins that are possible. Arkansas certainly is in the mix.

Technically LSU could go 0-6. They won't though. To me LSU's resume is far and away ahead of UCLA and UL that they likely won't catch them even if USCe takes the series. They in essence or basically will be the #1 baring something out of the ordinary happening.

You sure seem to be putting in a lot of stock for a 4 week window while ignoring a large part of the season because it favors your team. Unless Arkansas make a big run in the SEC tourney, you won't even crack the top 32 in RPI. How often do teams 5th in their conference, 3rd in their division, in the high 30s RPI host?

Yeah i'm not saying it's impossible but it's pretty unlikely imo. RPI of 50. I mean i guess if they go undefeated from here on out they might host.
