All I know is the first time Carolina went to the title game in the 70's Ray Tanner wasn't there.

Aren't you precious? All rustled up over a preseason ranking. Must be tough to be an MSU fan if that's what you get mad about.

So the real Miss St is the one we saw the last month of the season, not the first 4 months. We will see how that plays out.

The real Mississippi State team last year was a top 10ish team that was very flawed -- yet managed to make things happen. Exactly what I called them in the preseason while many here shunned the idea. They just happened to be gamers that played their best with their backs against the wall. Let us not forget that we went that deep with one starting pitcher -- who was expected to be no better than our #3 guy before all the injuries hit. We also played #1, #2, #3, and #4 from the east -- for what basically amounted to the most difficult conference schedule thusfar ever given in this expanded and unbalanced bullshite.

The real Mississippi State team this year is a top 5 team that could easily be better than that depending on how well the pitcher Bundy mentioned and one blue-chip freshman comes along. It will be hugely disappointing if they aren't in heavy contention to with the SEC outright during the last month of the season. This year, we get #2, #5, #6, and #7 from the east. LSU is our only imminently difficult road series. We get Arkansas, Vandy, and Ole Miss at home. Miss Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky altogether.

Yeah -- I'm the one that got my panties in a wad because a random State fan on the internet said he thought Carolina was a tier behind LSU and Mississippi State this year -- based on a bunch of listed(and obviously ignored) tangible facts.

Good thing is -- 2 of 3 polls thusfar agree with me.

Good thing is, I couldn't give a shite where we start out in the polls. It's just something fun to look at.

You're sounding like an Arkansas fan right now. MSU hasn't won anything, and probably won't this year. My prediction has as much solid ground as these "rankings".

I take it you didn't notice how we finished last year, and this year's team has better pitching and hitting.

I think as an MSU fan that went to Omaha last year -- I know a thing or two about this. No one is playing in the CWS right now to talk about.

This is a better overall Mississippi State team than the one that went to the brink last year.

Did you get permission from the Arkies to use such verbiage?

Engie, I really believe that LSU fans are in denial that we are going to be as good as the experts are predicting and it is beginning to worry them a ton.

Woody
Paul Young
Dakota Hudson
Lindo
Ross
Holder
Gentry
Cox
Bracewell

Damn im getting wooly

How is Holbrook looking against these 2 teams that you bring up? Pretty good?

Can someone just tell me how successful highly rated freshmen pitchers usually are in college baseball, specifically the SEC?

Serrano is 91-93 topping out at 95 with a ++curveball, a +changeup and average command.

Any comparisons recently?
