$850k last year. Peanuts. Had enough in reserves in the athletic department alone to absorb all of it. Donations are up, bball sold out for the first time in forever, home games against UGA and bama next year assure huge season ticket demand, payouts from SEC network this year, buyouts dropping all this year = large surplus put back into reserves. Things looking good at AU.

Stahp making sense... serious ignorance (i.e. "trolling") in progress.

Auburn, you're on notice!
Don't make us come down there and do to y'all, what we had to do to UAB!

In all seriousness, this will be an issue for everyone moving forward. It cost tons of money to compete now and that won't diminish.

LSU has huge concerns with our State Budget and cuts. It will only get worse and our Athletic Budgets can only do so much.

It costs a ton of money to compete, but some of the athletic departments have gone crazy. Some of the top schools in the conference have athletic debts above or around $200 million. Paying upwards of $20 million a year in debt service.

AU has not really started with their facility improvements yet. JJ decided to spend money on the non-revenue sports first, thinking it would be easier to sell Football improvements later.

poor people problems

should we set AU for a meeting with our native 'Belle and let her straighten'em out?

she didn't have a problem sending 'ol T Boone Pickens packing while acquiring his financial failures and turning them into quick a profit.

I can't imagine the mess the Lowder helped create over the years would be too much of a challenge for her to fix. she might could even get in a round at Augusta on the trip home.

Jacobs opted to make significant investments in all three with Malzahn, Pearl, and Galloway (two are poised to make Auburn some money, one is meh) with all the costs incured from buy-outs and shite. Spend money to make money.

Yeah, it's as if folks on here don't realize institutions run in the red some years. I get it, it's a fun way to attempt to troll, but it's the nature of construction and contract resolutions.

If you spend more than you take in, if it's 10 or 10 million, you will be poor.

iirc we're going to be taking on some debt too with the IPF, O'Dome renovation, etc. Not in the 200 million range though.
