Pasadena isn't cheap and they are on the hook for a ton of buyouts...
I don't see the big deal.
Get that voice of reason and logic out of here and get on board.
AU is on the road to ruin.

quote:Then why did you quote a post that was pointing out the extreme revenue disparity between football and every other sport in the SEC?
All I was pointing out is that LSU a) manages their financial affairs better than Auburn and b) has a fan base that supports more than just football.
LSU'S financials aren't different in that regard.

I know you just want to troll and what not, but we're talking about the athletic departments.

Obviously football drives the bus, you're not exactly breaking new ground there. But that doesn't mean it's the only "big" college sport.
I realize you live in a state that derives most of its self esteem from college football (sad), so I'll go ahead and cut you some slack.

They should build a water fountain, or maybe a koi pond

Isnt this two years in a row where the athletic department had a loss. Last year I think was a small amount.
$850k last year. Peanuts.
Had enough in reserves in the athletic department alone to absorb all of it. Donations are up, bball sold out for the first time in forever, home games against UGA and bama next year assure huge season ticket demand, payouts from SEC network this year, buyouts dropping all this year = large surplus put back into reserves.
Things looking good at AU.

Yeah, I enjoy seeing comments of the claim of moneys earned in baseball, but no link.
You can manipulate numbers to claim money is made almost anywhere.
Im sure LSU baseball does bring in more revenue than most others, though.

i understand you're a little upset right now. just relax. no need to get all defensive just because LSU makes money in the "big 3" sports

Men's Tennis only had $475 of total revenue? Why do I find that hard to believe?

everyone here knows about your LSU obsession and understands that you're old and senile....but we're talking about athletic departments
also...none of that has happened. its just what some people were saying would happen if there were cuts made

I like basketball, baseball, golf and a few other college sports. I just made a simple comment that these numbers explain the extreme disparity among football and even the distant second of basketball as far as revenue.
