Yeah, these guys go hundreds of thousands of Dollars in debt, to dedicate their lives to healing the sick, and some want to throw stones at em...What has America become?

You're just the coolest poster ever being able to bash a profession and a teaching institution. When did someone attending a learning institution become a target for ridicule?
You are a horses arse.

I never bashed Auburn. I would fully support them getting a med school. We need more good medical doctors in Alabama. I would also never ridicule someone trying to better themselves by going to a DO school. Good for them. I still would not want one performing a major surgery on me though.

This is brilliant logic. No offense, I can't help but think non sequitur, which means you are probably a guy who feeds chickens and doesn't understand basic logic. Maybe 11th grade education and I'm being generous.

Where did I ever claim you did? I am calling you out for standing on your lofty tower belittling a school and what students go there for. You have made your position quite clear on DO vs MD. You have now crossed that proverbial line of smugness, and complete arse.hole. So congrats on being that guy.

I'm posting on a sports forum from my couch watching the USC game. Why so serious? The medical profession is one of the oldest and most respected in the world and I hate to see it diluted, just like I hate that the legal profession is going to shite due to the numerous half arse law schools popping up all over the country.

I'm just sitting on my couch, watching the USC game and calling you out for being a dick. Don't get so angry about it, lawyer guy. Own your shite and stop whining like a legal assistant working their 90th hr for the week.

Who would?

IMO, the greatest general strength of our medical system is specialists. Although it is a costly strength the care from the best specialists (be it surgeons or otherwise) is without equal.

And the greatest weakness is the reliance on prescriptions and treating symptoms instead of fixing problems. Which is why DO schools exist in the first place. An alternative and a better approach to something that does not work well.

Lol, he complains about so many lawyers when lawyers make all the laws to the extent that fully one quarter of the US population is involved in the criminal justice system in some manner. How sophomoric can one be.

Dumb as a rock. He doesn't even realize that's he is the problem. Lawyers are redundant because they make themselves redundant, not because there is an especial need for their expertise.

Totally agree. People bash American health care and American education because they look at averages instead of looking at our best vs. their best. Our best doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers, businessmen, etc are by far the best in the world. We may rank in the 20's or 30's in most healthcare stats, but the best American doctors have no equal.

Nothing against auburn getting the school but some of you need to dial it back. Like this...

This is a fricking joke. I can tell I know a lot more about this subject than you so I'm not even going to waste my time. You just keep thinking that.

Completely agree except for the part about me being dumb as a rock. Lawyers make money because of excessively complicated laws and legal procedures that require lawyers to navigate, just like CPA's love the several thousand page tax code. You will never hear lawyers and accountants calling for a simplified or common sense anything. It's self perpetuating. Lawyers need lots of needless laws so they become politicians and make more needless laws and support politicians who make needless laws.

I'm sure UAB med school is really worried about the new holistic med school in Auburn.

havent heard yet, but likely they are. i know uab and south are both pissed about the new dothan school.

DOs typically arent going to get into a surgery residency, so you shouldnt have any concerns there, however, those that get into whatever residencies have the same training post-graduate, which is where they learn to do what theyre doing, alongside their MD counterparts.

and yes, DOs can take the usmle just like MDs, althought they also have the option of taking COMLEX instead.

The irony about this thread is the dichotomy of medicine versus law. The reality is that there is a glut of lawyers in this country but there is a dearth of doctors because of lawyers. It is much easier to invent a law than a disease and it much easier to lawyer a doctor than it is to doctor a law.

Dont shoot the messenger bro. Take it up with NYU medical center, which I'll go out on a limb and guess knows a little more about the subject than a college football message board warrior like yourself. It is true.

Auburn and bama fans will argue about anything. And one thing is for sure. You will be right in the middle of it being a d-bag
