6’6 is the typical height for a small forward. And in position-less basketball it makes even less of a difference. Hardly anyone even has a true 5 anymore. I can’t remember the last time Tennessee had a guy much bigger than that at the 3 and if they did they also slid over and played the 4 half the time... ie Tyler Smith. shite he was only 6’7.

We have JJJ playing there now along with Keon Johnson and Pons. All at 6’5 and 6’6.

And AU suffered because of it this year. Not until Cooper was able to force switches down low when he penetrated did the AU front have any effectiveness. Bruce likes to play D and Powell is a liability on that end of the floor. Flanigan is a solid 2 and if he has any chance of playing in the NBA, it will be at that position. He is not long like some other 6-5 players in the past, so AU gives up a lot if he plays the 3.

Imagine getting butthurt over talking about the typical SEC 3 being around 6’5-6-6 and providing examples.

Flanigan is 6-5 and having him at the 3 and Powell at the 2, you are giving up a lot on the glass and on Defense.

You’re out of your element, Donny..

Not only were Powell and Flanigan great rebounders at the G position, check the stats.. Flanigan is probably our best on ball defender.

So let’s just ignore the fact that Bruce’s best players he ever had werent good defenders and were great college players, not NBA guys.

Alabama plays 3 different guys at the #3 slot

- Primo (6-6)
- Petty (6-5)
- Ellis (6-6)

Because Bama is willing to shoot the 3 over protecting the glass. Live by the 3 die by the 3 and put your best shooters on the floor.

AU likes the 3, but it is force by a penetrating PG and pushing to ball out for the open 3. Two different styles.

He can play the 3 in college and still slide to the 2 in the NBA.

That is literally Alabama's style

2021 - #303
2020 - #148

Auburn's Final Four team was one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the country.

Yep, it was such a disappointing season, I hate to lose and I’m pissed rn. I will pull for our SEC brethren once the NCAAT starts but probably jaded until then.

Imagine thinking NBA potential = best college player. Chris Lofton didn’t play at Auburn. If we were going purely off NBA talent Tobias Harris was his best prospect - but that’s not what I was referencing.

Misleading because of how many threes AU shot that year. Most 3 result in a basket or a long D rebound.

No one claimed it is the same. Not sure Okeke was AUs best player the final 4 year. Wasn't the year before.
