Auburn wants the easier division. Anything else is a red herring. AU is scared of the SEC West

Logically it makes little sense that Auburn is in the SEC West or the state is on Central time for that matter.

Only two teams would logistically make sense for the swap, Vanderbilt who has tenure and Missouri who makes less than zero sense being in the SEC East.

I mean if you are using geography as the defining metric and I'm pretty confident it was during the conception of what is the SEC, then what we have now is asinine.

Would AU recruit Georgia/Florida kids any harder? I don't know if they could do more if they tried.

That said....Bring it we a'int skeerd!

UGA is the one program that would not be effected by this move, since they play AU every year.

Well, I'm told now that I'm supposed to give a shite way more about playing Missouri and Texas A&M than Auburn. But I can admit I care more about playing Auburn, just because I actually have memories my entire life of Arkansas playing against Auburn.

Yeah, we scared, even though we just won it. It would be interesting to see how not having real competition would be like. I am a firm believer that steel sharpens steel, and we wouldn't get that in the east, sans UF.

Me and AUs President. The only team that would not want it to happen from a competitive basis would be TN. From a financial aspect, it would benefit everyone in the east, due to travel cost and Season Ticket Sells.

This whole relocating to the East is just wishful thinking by Gogue. Just like Alleva wishing for the conference to do away with cross-division rivalries.......

Hell, Auburn had played G-Tech more than all other SEC teams but one, and Clemson more than all others but 4 before '92, does that mean Auburn wants to join the ACC so they can maintain their traditional rivalries?

Hmmm I wonder why we played Tech and clemson so much

I don't think FLA or UGA want yawl either though. Does Kentucky, Vandy, SoCarl want to add another power program to their permanent division schedule?

It won't happen. It would be ideal for AU. We would play more in our hot bead recruiting zones (ATL and N FL). The eastern teams will not allow it (looking at you UF and UT) because let's be honest, UF has the pick of the litter in the east.

UT is very happy in the East, they play TSIO,UF and UGA. UF also supported Mizzou to the East.

You can keep making up benefits for all the programs, but there is a reason Mizzou is in East. That is what the member schools wanted. Do you really think UK and Vandy want to drop Mizzou and add AU?

(the reason AU and GT played so often is because GT was in the SEC

Yes, and Tulane used to be in the SEC, and Auburn and Clemson used to be in the Southern Conference together with LSU. STFW? Those rivalries have died.

moronic argument.

There actually is no argument, Auburn's got just about as much history with the West teams now, no one cares about Auburn's perception of rivalries with Tennessee or Florida, just like no one cares about LSU's rivalries with Tulane and Ole Miss. And more importantly, the SEC front office cares about what the AU president wants about as much as they care about what LSU's AD wants.

Therefore, Auburn will stay in the West in the foreseeable future.

[Gotta give him credit for trying to get out of having to play LSU and A&M and trying to pad the records against down Tennessee and Florida.]

How did the vote go? Was Gogue shot down by a 13-1 vote like Saban & the 9 conference games?

I get what your saying but we tend to lose when we play y'all in Arkansas so I'm okay with reducing that possibility

Really, I better get CMR on the phone and let him know this ASAP....

You guys might try and build a wall around Lagrange and Columbus but, then we really don't claim those armpits as part of Georgia anywho...

Um, no, we don't.

We are mining Georgia and FLA like we mined Texas, a big part of that is playing in the East.

This Gogue guy needs to speak for himself only.
