You think more AU fans would pay to attend AU vs UK/Vandy than MSU/OleMiss?

absolutely

Auburn's got some lukewarm fans then.

Oh great, now we will have 2 permanent opponents so Bama can play Auburn and Tennessee every year.

Auburn will move to the East just as soon as Bama says they can. Which will be never.

bullshite. Pure bullshite. You may not..well, I guess you are right. You are no one.

Who is it that LSU was crying about having to play every year from the East?

If this happens I hope the Iron Bowl is the permanent opponent game dropped instead of the TSIO.

UGA is the one program that would not be effected by this move, since they play AU every year.

Except that they'd be fighting over the same SEC Championship slot...

It's true, from al.com
quote:

Alabama, which resides in the SEC minority of wanting No. 14 from the East Coast, would support Missouri if it joined the SEC East, not the West, multiple sources said. According to the sources, Alabama has two objectives: Keep its annual cross-division rivalry game against Tennessee, and not watch Auburn move to the East and possibly grow its recruiting presence in talent-rich Florida and Georgia.

We like playing both. I did a poll on the Bama board a couple weeks ago and I actually think UT came out ahead in a "Who would you rather play every year".

It was close though. I wouldn't mind dropping the iron bowl every year. I would mind a lot getting rid of the TSIO.

The article I read said bama and LSU would have none of it

I understand it on your end, but I would hate to lose the yearly game.
Maybe if the big conferences break off an pay players they will extend the schedule so we can do a 6-2-2 format. You can move Auburn east and preserve the IB and the LSu-Auburn game. Preserves TSIO, and the LSU-UF game as well.

Okay, you win, I'm convinced.

Auburn will move to the East.

Yeah, and that's not "bullshite", right?

Who knows? Five years ago who would have thought Mizzou would be in the SEC? As far as geography goes.......yes, Auburn should be in the East.

I don't think FLA or UGA want yawl either though.

The one thing that kind of throws a wrench into this is that Auburn appears to want to play UT too. It would be much simpler if we could just swap Auburn for Tennessee. Florida and UGA have very little history with UT pre-1992 and while rivalries have developed I would much rather get the Auburn game back.

Great, we'll set it up like this:

West:
LSU
A&M
Arky
Mizzou
Ole Miss
State
Vandy

East:
Bama
Auburn
UGA
Florida
Tenn
KY
USC

All your precious rivalries maintained, no permanent cross-division games.

Would that make you happy?

Why can't we just add another conference game? Then people can stop crying about waiting too long in between cross divisional games.
