Even as an Arkansas fan myself I'm getting tired of people not being able to let go that Hooter isn't our coach anymore. :beatdeadhorse:

FALSE. Richt is the best QB coach in the country and it might not be close. While QB coach at FSU he coached 2 Heisman Trophy winners. He then came to UGA and coached an unheralded 3* recruit to the most wins by a QB ever in college football history. Followed that up by taking a first year starter and led him to the SEC championship. Followed that up by having the overall #1 pick in the NFL draft, and has now taken a freshman and has led him to one of the best statistical seasons in UGA history.

People may give Richt guff for a lot of things, but if there is ONE area where the man is unparalleled it's QB coaching.

Richt is good, and he may equal Petrino in development of QBs. But I think he falls short of Petrino at scheming and playcalling.

And he doesn't have Petrino's proven NFL success.

Read my first post corn dog. And Tom Coughlin called Petrino the best player caller he's been around.

He may not have been a good NFL HC but he's widely lauded as a great QB coach and OC.

He not only equals Petrino, he surpasses him.

Right, and I never mentioned either one of those 2 areas. My entire post was simply about QB coaching.

And Petrino doesn't have the success I have at my job. Probably because he's never had it, much like Richt has never been an NFL coach.

I wish we could be like LSU!

And an Arkansas fan finally admits it....LSU is everything that Arkansas wants to be....things like elite, consistently contending for championships, never letting on non-championship trophy (The Boot) define our season, etc....I know Arkansas you want to be us but you never will be

Once Arky sinks back into mediocrity next year do you really think Petrino will stay around long enough to coach all of this elite talent you have coming in? Dude is a quitter.

Besides, ya'll can't even keep what little talent you have in that state to play for the Hawgs...just ask Keihl Frazier and Michael Dyer.

You are making your Arky fans look bad with posts like this just because you beat us to get to your FIRST BCS game. Win a couple of BCSNC's and put a couple of QB/WR's in the league and then start talking.

Hmmm.............

Arkansas has none/zero/zilch/nada QB's or WR's in the NFL on a roster right now.

LSU has:

Dwayne Bowe
Buster Davis
Michael Clayton
Trindon Holliday
Early Doucet
Devery Hendserson
Brandon Lafell
Matt Flynn

so you are basing this revelation on Arkansas being the best school for QB's and WR's on one season where you finished tied for second in the SEC West.

Laughable!!!!

I will only say this about Petrino's QB coaching ability.

He got Casey Dick to the point where he was the last cut from an NFL team. Maybe Richt could have done the same. No other coach in the SEC could have. Or would have had to. Thanks Houston.

You will not be taught proper fundamentals at LSU and Alabama. They will not prepare you for NFL offensive schemes. Their coaches do not have the skill to develop QBs and WRs like the coaches at Arkansas.

I guess that's why Julio will be first round pick anyway.

I'm enjoying all the Hogsmack around here. I'm looking forward to seeing if they can be the Auburn of 2011. It'll add another interesting twist to America's premier college football conference. And it'll be interesting to see if the Hoghype really is good for an Arky blowout of Ohio State in New Orleans. Anything less than a 35-40 point Arky win would a huge fail, if the Arkansas posters are to be believed. Go Swine!

Great point about Richt. He can develop QBs. I think Mullen will show he can coach them up as well. Auburn has a great offensive mind in Gus Malzahn. For star offensive recruits, Arkansas and Auburn are at the top of the list. Obviously this year the offensive teams won the battle in the West. There were coach changes that were a part of implementing this strategy. I will be interesting to see what the old guard (LSU and Alabama) do to respond to this. Do Miles and Saban try to reinvent themselves?

Are you fricking kidding me? Arkansas finally makes it to bowl worth caring about, and you're going to talk shite. Tell me again, when is the last time Arkansas beat Alabama? Jesus, talk about what have you done lately. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I guess anything less that 12 wins or so for Alabama is fail.
