Actually if he is successful he has just as much of a chance to hurt UF recruiting as A&M recruiting. His years and years of relationships with HS coaches are all in Florida, none in Texas. You can't change that in a year, especially because Texas is an early recruiting state.

oh come on.

SMU had kids on the damn payroll. Literally. And they are obviously a non-factor.

You really don't understand the lay of the land in Texas right right now. UT could get back to the point where they are competitive with us (right now, they get hardly anyone who we want), but there is no way in hell they get back to taking whoever they want. Sumlin + SEC makes that impossible. We have a unique recruiting position now. Want to stay in state? Want to play in the best conference on the country, with the most exposure in the country? A&M is the place to do that.

For the last 15 years, they took almost literally whoever they wanted in this state. That's what A&M is doing right now.

Nah dude. If he wins ANY games next year, literally ALL of our recruits will deflect. All of them. Every single one.

I was referring to when A&M ran the state. The 80's and 90's.

Honest question:

Why do so many Florida fans love sucking that sip dick?

This is exactly why Mack is gone and they brought in someone known for recruiting NFL talent.

He'll develop relationships.

I'm not saying aTm is fricked, but UT isn't going to just lay down and be fine with being subpar.

Idk how anyone could 'know' the state of Texas considering it's larger than most countries.

But I do know Strong. And he's one of the best recruiters in CFB. It's gonna be iteresting over the next half decade or so to see how this pans out.

Well many are implying that Texas hasn't always run the state in CFB. I think it's a fair assumption, considering nobody else has except SMU and Texas.

unless I'm missing something here.

Doubtful. He may come in to Florida and get a few guys/yr, but his base of players is solid. He won't need to come to FL for good players like he did at Louisville.

Doesn't matter. A few speeches around the state and a couple of bags of cash will solve the problem. If he wins, this won't be an issue.

Sure he can. My guess is he will go to all the pipeline schools first or schools that have been in the past. Make sure he mends relationships, etc. When Meyer came to UF, people said the same shite. It didn't matter, he won, and won big on the trail as well.

A&M ran the state from the mid-80s until Texas hired Mack Brown.
