It's hard to say 'We've won 15 national championships' and make it sound humble.

I think they hands down produce the funniest college football-related stuff. There's a lot of talent there. Also a lot of delusion.

My favorite:

quote:

Once again, let me reiterate:
1. The LHN is badass in its current form
2. One school having its own badass network >> 14 schools sharing airtime on a single network
3. We all understand that a network dedicated to 14 schools will require more man power during its startup phase than a mature network that is dedicated to one school. That being said, re-read point #2

They do. But you'll not catch many of them admitting it. Deep down they know staying in the big whatever will be a disastrous move when all is said and done.

There are some sweet melts on Shaggy Bevo

quote:

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck YOU, sec. Not paying $#@! to watch that overhyped cartel.

quote:

They got to play an overrated Ohio St team twice. As well as an OU team that should not have been there. An even more overrated Notre Dame team. Texas without McCoy. Hell one year they played each other.

quote:

$#@! you and the cornhole in general. You jumped ship just like agriloid because you were butthurt over getting your arse kicked for a decade. Again, $#@! Nebraska until the end of time.

The $#@!ing Gooners would have done the same thing had they not feasted on Mack's unprepared teams. No question about it.

What is funny about that thread, is that Longhorn mindset is still all about them. They talk about the rest of the conference getting more money, which is fine, as long as they get the most. IT never occurs to them they are only hurting themselves by diminishing their own reputation by playing inferior opponents who will never be able to dig out of the unequal hole that set up creates.

What a shame. I've really enjoyed my time in Austin. Honestly, from the friends I've made here, there's just little to no school spirit. they're all pro sports first. Hell, they didn't even really know they had that much tradition in baseball until they made their surprising omaha run. slightly arrogant in general, but nothing unbearable

And that arrogance almost killed their conference. They should have came to the SEC when they had their chance. But their desire to be the big kid on a small block is their own downfall. Continue to enjoy mediocrity my Longhorn friends.

I heard on Baton Rouge radio there are already 87 million viewers for sec network. It took the big 10 like 7 years to reach that. Each school is looking at 8 to 10 million in extra money because of the sec network.
