I lurk at ShaggyBevo quite a bit. Amazing how out of touch that fan base is. For all their supposed advantages and resources they have exactly one NC in the last 30 years. If arrogance equalled victories, they'd run us all out of business.*

UT fans really are a horrible bunch. I like to give the Aggies shite, but I have never met an Aggy that wasn't knowledgable about their team. Most UT "fans" don't even watch half the games. The alums are an insufferable bunch that have an over inflated sense of how important their university is. frick UT.

Say what you will, but our sidewalkers know every detail about our team. Many times, on a scary level.

Bama fans are arrogant about the football team. UT people think that they have a SEC level football team and a Ivy League level academic institution.

Bama fans are only arrogant about football (and they have a reason to be), UT is arrogant about everything, and their arrogance bit them in the arse and tore apart their conference.

As insufferable as Bama can be at times, they never demand unequal power or unequal share of conference revenue.

Doesn't A&M have a larger endowment than Texas?

Texas has the larger endowment and is twice the size of A&M's but A&M is still the 2nd largest endowment of any public school (recently passed Michigan).

It's a bit more complicated than that though because the money is for the Systems and not the main campus. A&M has to split its money with some of its system schools (though most don't qualify). Texas OTOH has to split its money with a larger system. UT Dallas, UTSA, UTEP, UT Arlington, UT Tyler, the 6 UT Med Schools including MD Anderson. Thus the "usable" money between the schools is very similar at this point, especially because it is very restricted as to what it can be spent on (mainly new construction for instance) and it is only interest that can be spent.

No. Oddly enough, A&M has 22 members of its system while Texas only has 16 (15 if you combine Brownsville and Pan-American into Rio Grande)

I'm not sure the PUF money goes to all of those 22 members, certainly not equally either. I remember someone doing the math, and we get more money for our main campus than the teasips get for theirs

The only 3 other A&M schools that get PUF money are Prairie View, Tarleton, and A&M Galveston. Some of the Research branches like the Extension Centers are eligible as well. Still it pales in comparison to the large campuses like UTD and UTSA as well as the Med Schools that make a big dent in the Texas endowment. The Austin campus also doesn't have a lot of new construction compared to A&M because of size limitations.
