Ohio State played two legitimate teams on their schedule, and only beat one of them, nobody's fault but their own that they're not in the CFP. Iowa lost to the first 'great' team they played this year.

Too many games. Unless you trim the regular season, which you can't really because of conference expansion. 4 is just right.

The only way to know how legit everyone's schedule is would be for everyone to play everyone.
Since that can't happen it should be a 12 team playoff w/all P5 champs getting autobids. After that there are two slots for the best G5 champs. The rest are wildcards. Top 4 get a bye the first round as a reward.
