First, don't give me that s**t about Clemson, Fla St, Ok St, KState, Texas, TTech, etc. They will never be joining the SEC so don't waste time.

There's only 3 states and 5 schools that are legit expansion options right now, in no particular order: OU, VTech, UVA, NC St, UNC.

OU pros:

- large national fan base
- non-embarrassing academics
- maybe the only legit add that would increase TV football ratings immediately
- big SEC-style stadium
- tradition

OU cons:

- Aggies might not like it, would compete for their Texas recruits
- OU burned some bridges with Mizzou and Aggie when they left the B12
- would be number 15, not sure if that's do-able without getting another.
- current AD and President are dbags.
- probably have to wait a number of year to get closer to end of B12 GOR.
- difficulty of separting from little brother.

pro/con?
- would make SEC even tougher.

As a Mizzou fan I guess I'd be ok with adding OU as long everyone got an immediate bump in TV revenue. Probably would lead to Mizzou moving over to SEC West which isn't a big deal, but makes more geographic sense.

I wouldn't mind OU in the SEC, but it won't happen.

Good point about little brother.

OU to SEC could happen if B12 turns into such a dumpster fire that the rats start jumping ship. And that's not so far-fetched.

SEC is Football and Bases Heavy..

Ark faded from Nolan Richardson era in Hoops, UK and Fla the two lone Heavyweights..

Holding out for UNC/Duke or UNC/NCSt..or bust

SEC doesn't need to add, even if the others go racing 20 wide.

Agree about SEC not needing to add. But OU might be one of the 'blue chips' that would intrigue the SEC leadership enough to pull the trigger.

I doubt if bball is going to be a driving force in expansion.

Which is why I think a CNS to Texas is so important, as his life's last great work, to restore UT, help stabilize Big-12, UT vs OU, stem ATM's in-state rise, and help influence the disease that is 7-on-7 Flagball upon Texas High School Football back to some Smashmouth.

Texas and Big-12 could desperately utilize his stature and starpower to move forward.

Wouldn't matter if in future years UT, OU, etc..were in SEC..

Condy and the gang will emerge from that room with a Big Five Conferences "PC Final Four" regardless of the RPI, SOS, Sagarin, Palm,etc..numbers..

You will not see more than 2 SEC teams in the dance..even if they had 9 of the Sagarin top ten slots.

Don't need anymore Football powers period, regardless if Delaney,etc..go whoring again.

OU/Okie State, UVA/VT and UNC/Duke are for sure package deals. No conference is getting one without the other.

We don't need any more schools anyways. We're still trying to figure out how to schedule for 14 teams. It'd be a true shitshow if Bham was trying to figure out 16 teams

Once TBoone goes tits up, I think the link between OU and OSU might get a little weaker.

UVA/VA Tech are not a package deal. Not even close. If it wasn't for political pressure within VA, Tech would of not gotten the ACC invite when they did. UVA was more than happy leaving them in the Big East.

Isn't that what has happened the last two years. I can't believe that OU hasn't realized that all teams flourish when they are removed from the cancer-shadow that is Texas.

Take home message? It won't happen. Culturally OU is midwestern rather than southern, but then again so are states like Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida so that isn't the barrier.

The Big 12 GOR makes it a financially unappealing prospect for OU. Even without the GOR Oklahoma State is probably tied to OU and the SEC has no interest in two new programs from a state the size of Oklahoma. There's nothing wrong with expanding into Oklahoma theoretically but it isn't as desirable as expanding into Virginia or North Carolina - both of which are also pretty much off limits because of GOR agreements in the ACC.

Even if you pretended that OU was free to leave for the SEC you'd have to bring in one more major program to even out the numbers between the two SEC divisions. Who would be the realistic second? Texas is the only other desirable program from teh Big 12 and they are not coming (even if they wanted to they might face significant SEC resistance from A&M, MU, and perhaps Arkansas)

I could see OU joining without OSU. then add an eastern team (NC State).

You can still keep your rivalry game ( UGA-Tech, UF-FSU).

UVA would be happy to get out of the ACC and away from VATech trust me, they can be stolen easy but still you are missing another school with them. NC State?

First of all , the other 4 major Confs have GORs, and with the new money in they WILL NOT fold or lose any current members. Why would you leave an easier path?

Second I go believe you will see a separation of The big 5 ,ND and BYU AND the smaller FBS schools at least for scheduling and governing purposes ie ( player incentives ) But I believe part of the deal will include an expansion of those Confs to 16 teams, to include the Boises and ECUs of the world.

All this will probably take place some where around the 3-4th year of the playoffs when there is a push to expand.

ALL of your A list guys are off the board, it's just won't happen, expansion targets are in the states of NC and VA. But it's not who you want.
