20/29 323 yards, 2 turnovers, 1 rush TD

Good stats, right? I would say they aren't bad. That's 69% completion percentage and the fumble wan't his fault.

The problem everyone has with Murray is he is a 5th year senior. How can a 5th year senior and 4 year starter have no idea about the game clock? Where is the 5th year senior leadership to put the team on his back and not go for -9 yards in the 6 drives following 3 TD drives and a 21-14 lead? Statistics aren't what UGA fans have a problem with, it's his intangibles in big games. When things get tough, you don't see him elevate his game and make everyone around him play better. You don't see the attitude of "I'm going to have to win this by myself" like you see in someone like Manziel. He just seems like a pawn in Richt's scheme, like the star pupil that's a teacher's pet. He does all his homewotk and aces tests, but has no girlfriend because he's too scared to talk to girls.

Our D Coordinator was essentially handed his arse by a high school coach last night. Think about that.

Our defense had enough stops to win us the game. Do you not recount the 6 drives of -9 total yards after 3 scoring drives? I blame this totally on the offense. The D had 8 freshmen in the two-deep and only a few with quality playing time. I will take their effort against an offense like that on the first game of the year. If you expected our defense to win the game for us last night, then you have too much faith in inexperience.

Murray doesn't call the plays nor is he he responsible for getting everyone ready to play. He does the best he can with what he's given.

I actually thought he played pretty hard. Our offensive line couldn't protect him and we quit trying to call running plays that worked and kept trying to run into the teeth of their defense.

Time for crying is over. Time to move forward and next week's gonna be a bear.

Championship caliber teams don't surrender 500 + to anyone. 35 points is more than enough to win a ball game

I thought the play calling was terrible, esp in the 1 st half. We were essentially running the ball every 1st and 2nd down. Compared to clemsons offense, ours looked so simple. Unless Clemson has a badass d line, I'm worried about USC and the rest of the sec.

I just posted this under a different thread but think it is worth putting here also.

Murray's performance in this game is not the real topic about him. It is the fact that Murray continually and consistently is an under achiever in games against quality opposition. Here is a stat on Murray that was astonishing to me considering he is entering his senior year.

Murray has only beaten one Top 20 team as a starter in his entire career and that was the Florida game last year when they barely beat Florida due to the Gators having 6 turnovers.

Murray's stats from the Florida game. In his only win as a starter against a Top 20 team his stat line was 12-24 for 150 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs.

I didn't expect our D to shut them out or hold them in single digits by any means, but 35 points and 545 yards of offense should always be enough to win a game. The defense was gutted over and over and over. Grantham should have had to walk home last night.

Fair amount of blame goes to our offensive line, who can't pass block anyone.

Who knows.....

It is hard to believe that's the same o line that played against Bama last year. I was feeling really good about the game after the 1st quarter but then we just offensively went to sleep. Our defense shouldn't have had to handle 6 consecutive series of TO's and punts.

There are common denominators in those games other than Murray. Mainly line play, conditioning and play calling.

The 3 plays on the first and goal before the botched FG attempt were infuriating. Clemson had 10 guys in the box and we ran it right into the teeth of the defense, which they were anticipating; no attempts to try and get it outside the tackles.

Clemson played well last night. They were pumped up and they have a good team. That said, no reason we should not have won last night, but stupid penalties and uninspired play calling killed us.

These yards basically happened in 3 quarters because of the 6 consecutive drives resulting in -9 total yards that took place in the 2nd quarter and the first drive of the second half. If we're really the offense we say we are, we should have put up 49 points and 700 yards on that defense.

Here's another stat to think on:
Boyd - 5 TDs, 0 turnovers
Murray - 1 TD, 2 turnovers

You tell me which star QB led their team?

And I do put blame on the playcalling as well. It was horrendous. We kept beating a dead horse when they were daring us to throw it on them. Everything typical of UGA the last few years happened...predictable playcalling and subpar QB play.

Murray made some mistakes, and I was perplexed by Bobo's decision to throw the ball on 3rd and 2 coming out the gate when we have an All SEC RB on our team. But. At the end of the day, the defense played far, far shittier than Murray did.

We traded one Willie Martinez for another. The end.

Did you expect the defense to play well last night? We had 9 freshmen in the 2 deep. Not exactly an ideal situation on top of
Not having our starting safety.

I do think JHC cost us the game.

I honestly haven't expected our defense to play well since Van Gorder was on the sidelines.

I disagree. Even when Murray hit his targets they were never, ever in stride. Last night is an example of exactly why I got irked anytime someone said that big fat floppy pussy of a QB needed his jersey retired or a heisman and that our OL was gonna be "awesome." 5th year senior and he's a god damn liability every snap.

I thought considering the circumstances the D did alright till then even though their DC was getting fisted by a fricking club by chad morrison.

Call me a bad fan, idc, I'm gonna egg that FCA coordinator of a coach's house and then burn all of Murray's Ed Hardy. fricking told myself I'd never see another Boose State disaster in person, richt made me break my damn promise.

God dammit.
