re: Higher paying job offer

You are probably aware of all this, but that's a job that has a lot of peaks and valleys in terms of WLB. Plenty of downtown during the quarter but lots of hours at quarter end. There can obviously be a big difference between SEC reporting and non SEC reporting, so I get why you're wary about it. If...
I don’t like that they do it this way but I do understand why. I guess I’ll just ask them to withhold an extra $100 or so from each base salary check just ti be safe
No one can answer that without knowing your taxable income. Just estimate your 2024 tax liability and then adjust y...
wife's withholdings went down to zero at the beginning of the year due to the new tables. As a CPA, I knew better and changed it back but many people didn't even notice.
You're right but it is wild to me that people don't notice changes in their paycheck.
Makes no sense to evaluate your taxes by simply looking at return vs owing. What was your taxable income, what was the resultant taxes owed, did you have same credits or not..crunch the numbers and find effective tax rate. Only number that matters.
But if more people are in the beer line maybe the hotdog line shortens, and we can finally get our wieners hassle free. ...
Is no one bothered by the amount of taxes they are paying?
Well they need to quantify what makes up that number because it's clearly more than just federal which would be closer to ~22% (standard deduction) on that salary. Another 3.5% for FICA and assuming they live in CA it's ro...

Madoff assets were specific to Madoff. You couldn't buy them at other investment firms. It wasn't like transferring SPY from etrade to Schwab. They would've had to sell, pay the applicable taxes and then transfer the cash. ...
