Who fills in for him? Breland?
Posted on 8/7/15 at 12:22 pm to WithaRebelYell
Breeland is above him on the depth chart already. If we have any more DT injuries we could not redshirt that Robinson kid and give him a shot

Am I the only one that doesn't see either senior guard as the starter at the end of the year? Taylor and Patterson are really talented and after a few games in the rotation should take over. At least, that's what I'm guessing.

I think that Bell definitely gets passed up. Morris I think realizes his precarious position thus the recommitment to being smaller and more athletic. Apparently he's really serious(yes we've heard that before)

All Bell has on either Taylor or Patterson is experience. He just can't get to his spot fast enough on a pull. Morris is talented and experienced and if he's as committed as it sounds, that's good. I'm worried about his health though. He seems like a ticking time bomb for another lower body injury.

I was worried about that too which is encouraging that he shed the fat. Another surprise from the first day is that Fahn Cooper looked really good. Also Bridges shut down Laquon and talked shite to him all day.

All we have to do is use the term "1B" instead of "second team". That way, when everyone says we lost a lot of players, we can say we actually return a bunch of 1B starters and can call everyone else crazy for labeling us as delusional
Eta: we also have to say that the 1B players were actually better than the 1A players the whole time

We may be losing 16 starters based on today's depth chart, but the end of the season depth chart has opportunity to look different. I bet it's is closer to 11/12 new starters for 2016 by the end of this season.
In addition, other than the Big 4, all the other departing starters are very replaceable.
Other than Tunsil, we could potentially upgrade at all of the OL positions. Morris - meh. Ben Still is very replaceable and upgradable. Justin Bell - meh. Fahn - I expect him to improve this year, but still he can upgraded.
TE - We will obviously take a step back if Engram goes pro (who knows if the NFL teams will look at him as a TE or WR, which could hurt his draft status).
WR - Losing Quon hurts, but we have young WR talent for days. I doubt both Core and Quincy start next season.
RB - Jaylon is a solid contributor but we all know we could potentially upgrade that spot with a complete RB (Swinney or a newcomer).
DL - We take a hit losing RN and Gross' upfield ability, but we may improve stopping the power run with Breeland and DJ Jones. Haynes and Fadol will be fine @ ends.
LB - CJ and Denzel are both replaceable pieces. Conner will be missed but I'm not sure (like Evan Engram) if the NFL evals him as a safety or LB, which could affect him negatively.
Secondary - not losing any CBs. Mike and Trae are solid pieces, but neither are huge losses and they have young talent coming behind them. We are going to sign Deontay Anderson who is probably good enough to see significant time in 2016.

The depth, talent and frames of our secondary get me feeling all sorts of tingly. We're a far cry from Johnny Brown and Marshay Green holding down the starters back there.

I didn't list them as hard to replace, I listed them as graduating and/or leaving early.
Seriously though, the guys we have behind some of our current starters are good, we all know this. However, tossing a true freshman into the SEC West gauntlet is near suicidal.

Or we could lose both starting CBs. They both are NFL guys.

True - say we lose Tee - we still have Kendarius and Bridges tho.
We should at least get depth this year from Linton, Ordoway, Jones, etc and they could be ready to compete for the nickel spot in 2016.

Right, but we're going to be losing every single offensive line starter, so experience will be scant, at best.
Also, why isn't Jordan Sims getting any looks? I thought he was a steal coming out of high school.

WR should be fine, although we'll certainly miss Successfulquon.
I have hope for the future at TE though because Willie Hibbler is a beast.

As long as he is above 210 pounds, I could see us upgrading here.

Agreed, although we'll need some beef in the middle to stop the run.
I'm hoping for a 7-5 or 8-5 season in 2016. If we go 8-5 in 2016, Freeze deserves another raise.

We have plenty of depth in the secondary right now and it makes me feel all moist and tingly in my downstairs parts.

If we go 10-3 this season and 8-5 next, that means Freeze's Rebal career looks like this:
2012: 7-6
2013: 8-5
2014: 9-4
2015: 10-3
2016: 8-5
Total: 42-23
Just dreaming
