People whose opinion on OM I respect and there's not a whole lot of those tbh even if I sound like a snob

I personally do... That kid isn't normal... The reason true Frosh don't do so well is because of the mental game... And that's Shea's strongest facet

Mix in that his brother is a QB coach... He will be the starter

Yeah don't think Shea starts freshman year and never said that..
But he will be starting his sophomore year.

I can't think of a true freshman QB in the SEC that had an above average season.

I see your logic and can respect it... But this kid ain't your average QB recruit... He's not even your above average recruit

Just bookmark it and talk to me a year and 4 months from now

We will all be dead from drug overdose from our SEC championship so that'll be pointless

Next year will be a rebuilding year of sorts. I'd like to RS Shea next year while we sort out o-line issues and other areas, so that he can hit the ground running in '17

I heard the same schtick about Robert Nkemdiche three years ago and he's underperformed.

You can't predict greatness, for the most part.

I hope you're right though.

But an eighteen year old kid in the gauntlet that is the SEC West . . . that's just rather dumb, especially considering we'll presumably have Chad Kelly with one-year of experience under his belt.

If we get a top shelf LT then we will be right back in the mix. We won't be struggling know what I'm saying

Eli fricking Manning needed a RS year and still needed his freshman year holding a clip board for most of it.

NO quarterback needs to come in as a true freshman and start in the SEC. RS Patterson and make him take Kelly's spot when it's his senior season with 2 years under his belt. If he takes it....then we're in for one hell of a ride.

Matt Stafford started as a true freshman at UGA in 2006 (with more talent around him than Shea will have, especially considering we'll be rebuilding in 2016) and had a miserable season. He completed 52.7% of his passes for 7 TDs and 13 INTs.

Mitch Mustain started a few games as a true freshman at Arkansas in 2006 and had a shitty season as well. He finished with a 52.3% completion percentage, 10 TDs, 9 INTs.

Tyler Bray had a solid 2010 as Tennessee's starter, but he benefited from playing one team with a winning record in Tennessee's 4-1 finish down the stretch. We don't have that luxury in the SEC West as we'll likely finish with Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, A&M, etc.

Wesley Carroll started as a true freshman. Enough said.

Chris Leak had a solid season as a true freshman starter in 2003. He completed 59% of his passes for 16 TDs and 11 INTs.

Dude it's just highly unlikely Shea has even an above average season.

I don't listen to much of anything people say about Ole Miss qbs. Two years ago Kincade was suppose to be the next great thing. Now he is Barry Brunetti. I even said at the time you can't just rule out Ryan Buchanan. Pellerin won't just roll over for Shea.

How many starters are we set to lose next year?

WR | Laquon Treadwell | Derrick Jones

C | Ben Still or Robert Conyers
RG | Justin Bell | Rod Taylor or Jordan Sims
RT | Fahn Cooper | Sean Rawlings
TE | Evan Engram | Jeremy Liggins
WR | Quincy Adeboyejo | Damore’ea Stringfellow
SLOT | Cody Core | Markell Pack | Quintavius Burdette
QB | Chad Kelly or Ryan Buchanan or Devante Kincade
RB | Jaylen Walton | Jordan Wilkins

Defense
DE | Fadol Brown | Channing Ward
DT | Robert Nkemdiche | Breeland Speaks or D.J. Jones
NT | Issac Gross | Woodrow Hamilton
DE | Marquis Haynes | John Youngblood
OLB | Denzel Nkemdiche | DeMarquis Haynes or Terry Caldwell
MLB | C.J. Johnson | Christian Russell or Temario Strong
NB | Tonny Conner | A.J. Moore
CB | Tee Shepard or Kendarius Webster | Carlos Davis
Rover | Mike Hilton | Chief Brown or C.J. Moore
FS | Trae Elston | C.J. Hampton
CB | Tony Bridges | Kailo Moore

We're set to return 6/22 starters next season and you're saying we're one left tackle away from contending from the SEC West? What the frick?

Look, I know the guys behind our starters are good too, but come on man. Every program has rebuilding seasons and we are no exception.

God dammit that's not what I meant. I'm fully aware of what we have to replace. I don't think we will be competing for the west in 2016. I think we won't be awful. Also if you're going to list Bell and Still as hard to replace I'm going to go ahead and say you're being stupid on purpose.
