Also, per MT, the plaza area outside VHS won't be done until next season. Somewhat surprised to hear that.
Anyone else feel like the school does a bad job of providing info to fans re: expansion updates? Feels like we never get a photo gallery or regular updates. At other schools they provided videos and photos every other week.

The school raised millions of dollars with architectural renderings they didn't go through with. If I were an investor (donor) I'd be pissed. But I'm not so I'm cool with the NEZ just getting bowled in.

Really, exactly what improvements have they not done or not started working on that were promised?

The renderings which made it look like the outside would match the south endzone... and the bowl which would sit flush....
If you are not sure , why challenge someone elses statement.

Obviously you haven't been staying abreast of the information that has come out.
The reason for the NEZ time line change is because of the Fed Ex student athlete's center that is located in the field houses. Fed Ex has promised sponsorship and placed money to fund this for at least 10 more years. Until something else can be worked out, it is impossible to demolish the old field house, which will be necessary in order to complete the NEZ the way the renderings were shown. Until then, the option is to bowl in the stadium and make other necessary upgrades to other facilities including the press box in Vaught/Hemingway, the baseball facilities, additional luxury seating areas.
You sound like a troll, attempting to push an agenda of an administration lying to the alumni. I'm sure you are one of the trolls who likes to go around spreading rumors on the internet because it makes you feel important.
I guess some people need that kind of purpose in their life, when they have very little else to look forward to.
You be you, and the rest of us at Ole Miss will go on being Rebels.
See you on Saturday, when it matters.

This is what you responded too.
and I answered it.
They raised tons of money with renderings that did not work out.
there is your answer.
I know the excuses and reasons for why things didnt work out just as much as the next informed Rebel Alumni. The fact is when donations were made people were shown images and they are not coming to pass when it said it would be.

Lol No one has to push a agenda of the PREVIOUS administration lying. That's exactly what happened. Those initial renderings were never feasible.
This horse however has been beaten to death. I think the guy was just answering the question, not trolling.

The previous admin made a mistake in alluding that the VHS rendering was going to happen. It simply was a ploy to get people excited enough to invest in a CGA to finance the Pavilion and other capital projects. They were living in the vague and then either got fired or moved on to Buffalo or Troy. Bjork and Keith had to determine the best way to continue the momentum and make sure VHS was addressed in this campaign within the budget allotted.
We are still getting a huge return for our investment. Major facility upgrades across all sports. We are one West and East side renovation from having a great athletic campus.
With the growth of the Ford Center Blvd., I would even argue that we should focus our next project on the Rebel Club side of VHS. Tear down the existing structure built in 1997, build the new press box/club/suites from goal line to goal line and create a grand entrance on that side of campus. Then build a parking garage in the existing parking area between Swayze and VHS.

I think the east side should be addressed first in terms of the facade. The Pavillion masks the west side facade to an extent. I think updating the north end zone as they are doing now and remodeling the east side as you mentioned would do wonders for the appearance of VHS.
People who continually get mad because this addition doesn't include the plans Boone and staff released need to move on.

Then upper deck the West side and suiten up the NEZ after Freeze has won multiple SEC championships. That's an 80k + seat stadium which sounds perfect for Ole Miss.

New speakers and possibly new LED lights on top.

I don't see a need in an upper deck ever. Particularly on the West side. I'm not paying money to sit up there, and no one else is either, so where is the money coming from?
The stadium would be better served with a new press box that runs the length of the west side, with additional luxury boxes to help bring in the money to pay for it.
East side luxury boxes extended to the length of the east side would be the next move.
The final phase would be he removal of the old field house and finishing the NEZ to match the SEZ.
I don't think anyone lied about the goal of where they wanted everything to end. I think some changes have been made to accommodate some of the issues that have come up.
When they finish the NEZ the lower luxury boxes will meet where the bowled end zone stops. If you look at the SEZ the luxury boxes ended up extended down into the old student section sitting, so both will be vey similar in appearance once completed.
I think 60,000 seats along with 15,000 luxury box seats is plenty. It needs to be a hard ticket and there needs to be an understanding that television will continue to cut into the crowds that might be there. Also realize, many people come to Oxford and don't go to the game now. There may not be a 20,000 fan base bump regardless of the success of the program.

You Reno the press box and add luxury seating. Add a small deck on top of it that seats like 8k that will allow us to stuff visitors away in. You expand luxury seating on the east side add luxury seating to the NEZ. And it's paid for.

We have a growing fan base due to the influx of OOS students who graduate and move back OOS that come back for games and often bring friends and family and that trend will only continue. Add that with our solid 40-50k ole miss die hards in Mississippi. The grove/sec football/Oxford being popular with opposing fan bases Ole Miss could definitely eventually fill an 80k+ stadium if Freeze stays on this current trajectory.

Solid post. Only reason I would want an upper deck is to put away fans in it but could never see us having two
