I just read that Moody checked in at 5'11" and 188lbs. He was supposed to be 6'2" and 220lbs.

I know heights and weights are often exaggerated but 3" and 30lbs seems extreme

Someone on rivals said he was that small and like half the posters jumped all over him calling him a troll

I wonder what went so wrong with EJ Price that they mutually cut the visit short.

Someone came on rivals during last week and said we need to do everything we can to keep Price from our program.

How in the hell did we offer a guy like Brenden Williams? Will he really receive a scholarship? Its officially over we cant even get juco players that are ranked to come in and play immediately! WTF has happened!

How have we not hired a DC yet? If its going to be Mcgriff let him get to work we are only hurting ourselves. I don't care if we have Nick Saban coaching no one is going to improve our defense with players like Brenden.

Brenden might be the best signee of the class.

We haven't hired a DC yet because we are wanting our top two targets to tell us no first. Strong has, Levitt hasn't. McGriff will be waiting when we have exhausted our top choices. The OC pick is a mess tho

How could you say that? He doesn't even have another power 5 offer!

Not really that worried about our OC at least we have talent there.

Williams I'm willing to bet will be one of the better players in the class. He was 200lbs last year coming out of HS. He is now 230lbs. The reason he didn't get many offers is because he was a freshman who was eligible after one season. OM did their homework on this kid and didn't tell anyone.

Why would being eligible a year early make colleges not pay attention to him?

i know nothing about collegiate football but i'm excited about this kid...dude has instincts and lateral speed...he is playing right now on instincts and athletic ability and put up great numbers in JUCO...I mean he has only played defense this year..he signed as a WR then hit an 18 year old freakish growth spurt...he may never be all SEC but his size and speed makes him a better option than a white walk-on IMO

And he has 4 years to play 3

In all actuality it is not uncommon for kids to get to college programs where they have training tables and real S&C programs and gain +25 lbs in a year.

New rumor just getting out on Cam Akers that I heard last Thursday from somebody connected to the metro Jackson HS football community:

quote:

Orgeron told him he would let him play at QB. Apparently that didn't go over with his parents who don't see his 5'11'' height as cutting it in the SEC. Supposedly down to us and Fla State now.

Because coaches doing a half zass job might not and in this case obviously weren't aware that the kid was eligible out of HS which means he could transfer after one year.

He has 4 to play 3. He will get to go thru the spring. As a staff you couldn't ask for better. A JUCO player that has played a year of higher level fb, still has a RS year left if he wasn't ready, and a LB with hands good enough to be offered a WR spot from Bowling Green out of HS.

I'm not saying he will be Patrick Willis, but this is the kid the staff has sucked at getting since they've been here. I call them glue players.

i am not buying that as the reason he cut LSU.. "we will LET you play QB" to me means if you want to...if you just want to play RB then they will let you do that as well ha
