Makes sense for it to be monetary. Was only thinking about roster size.
Sounds like there will be very little room to add anybody during the year if we are that close.

I saw that Braves released Penn Murfee as a result of adding Chavez.
Question - Why was releasing Murfee necessary? Couldn’t they just have put him on the 60 day IL list if we needed room on the 40 man roster?...

I think it a third pitch and a change of speeds is going to help him a ton with his pitch counts. He’s still going to be a strike out pitcher but you don’t have to be quite as pinpoint with 3 pitches which will hopefully induce some earlier, weak contact....

Since I am not expecting a big splash,
Brandon Woodruff on a 2 year deal is interesting to me. There is a chance he’s back at the end of the season (maybe unlikely and likely in a limited capacity). But think we will be fine in the regular season and if he can make it back he’d be a very a solid #3...

Cash wise, I’m sure they’ll be fine. Especially if it’s $35M or less per year.
CBT wise, $70M per year is a big hit.
I wonder if they were able to get any insurance on him and what that would look like. Would think with that contract and being in the middle of TJ #2 the premiums would be absur...

I would have had Jordan Montgomery in the Sonny Gray category but his recent success is going to drive up the price.
Riley is not terrible at 3rd but no where GG level. Rosario as a finalist is laughable....

The missed roughing the kicker followed up a a non existent facemask on back to back plays. Both the head refs calls.

Arcia is not an everyday SS for a playoff team but not sure who we could realistically go get and Grissom is not the answer there. My guess is we do nothing there.
Grissom will be interesting. Think he’s not a SS and they know that. 2nd and 3rd and locked down for awhile. Moving him to a primary ...
