with an M.
I don't want to just throw her name out there for the lurkers reading, but her last name could double as a guy's first name if that helps.

Yea, understandable.

If I'm right, she had blonde hair, and graduated in 2009.

Still is. Good little christian girl too. If I were less attractive then she would be a good one to bring home to mama.

As bad as yesterday was, today is going to be almost as bad. All of those people having to get to their abandoned cars, crews having to get to all those jack knifed 18-wheelers, parents still trying to get their kids from school, grumpy folks like me that slept on their office floor that just want to get home. And they're saying the ice won't even start melting until lunchtime.

Yeah, today is shaping up to be a clusterfrick. People will see the sun and think everything is good or they'll just be tired of being stranded and go for it anyway. Really hope ALDOT did a lot of work over the last few hours .

Hoping people just stay home today. It won't get above freezing until tomorrow. Sand won't melt ice and it's going to be a nightmare clearing roads. I hope there weren't any fatalities last night from the cold or carbon monoxide poisioning from being in vehicles. I've seen several posts from folks unable to get in touch with elderly that were stuck in it, diabetics or folks with other illnesses needing medicine.

Listening to the news and it sounds like the sand trucks just made it back from south alabama about 2 hours ago soo and with the temperature dropping again tonight I'm afraid any progress made today will be undone

I wish they would have said more about Carbon Monoxide. After about 3 hours in my car I started to get a headache and it finally dawned on me to crack the window. Thankfully I had a blanket and some extra socks in my gym bag to add extra warmth

What I later learned is the the snow can clog the exhaust systems in your car and if you're trapped you should stop and periodically clear them. So if you know anyone on the road ways, maybe teenagers make sure they're aware of this

I want to commend my uncle. He is still out working. Has checked over a thousand cars on I20 and surrounding areas from bham to Pell city. Pulled out over 100 stuck cars and shuttled a couple hundred people in the last 21 hours. Proud to call him family.

Thought about starting a new thread for this.

I'm close to I459 and wish I could get out there to give some assistance, but I didn't really dress appropriately yesterday to be out in the extreme cold for too long.

Props to your uncle.

We are close to 459 too. Low on fuel for the 4WD. I keep getting text messages from people wanting me to come and get them.

We're going to hike back to our truck today, see what can be done. 4 wd isn't worth much with so many 2wd vehicles blocking everything.

I wish I had a brush guard and I'd be pushing cars out of the road. Ordering one next week

That's the big problem. Abandoned cars/cars blocking the road way. I'm lucky I got home, wife still at hotel. I'm blocked in my neighborhood and can't get out. Right now the road feels more slick than yesterday.
