He was raised in a muslim country and taught islam from a young age, and is at the very least a sympathizer. So no, he wont be denouncing it or calling on all muslims to denounce it.

So you are saying without Isis and radical Islam, Mateen still goes to Pulse and slaughters 50 people in the name of Allah? Really?

Nope, that's not what I'm saying at all.

So they're to blame, according to his father at least. Let's find these 2 and beat the shite out of them.

Homegrown terrorism doesn't mean the person can't be sympathetic to an extraterritorial cause. It just means the person is a citizen who commits violence against the people of the person's home state.

AFAIK, there is no proof that Mateen was in contact with ISIS or any other terrorist organization. For now, it seems prudent to label it homegrown. Not sure why this is such an issue for conservatives.

It's pretty clear this was homegrown. This isn't just about Isis. There is hate all over the world, and right now it's painfully obvious that the Islamic faith is waging war on everyone else. Obama is far too PC with this shite, with his unwillingness to call a spade a spade. But I do believe he is right in that this is a homegrown terrorist. You don't have to live in the Middle East to become and Islamic radicalist.

Dark times and I believe this will continue. I have 2 friends in SF and both believe there is another attack coming this summer. I believe they know who a lot of these guys are that are on US soil, which makes it even fricking worse.

I'm a registered democrat and will be the first to admit that POTUS' speech came across as cowardly. We need someone to stand up and say enough is enough. You shouldn't have to live on fear anywhere in the world, but especially in America. We spend far too much money on defense.

Correct. But the common denominator is ISLAM. It's obvious at this point. Yes, Christians persecuted millions in the Crusades. But currently the largest terrorist threat in all of the world are radical Islamists. It's just time.

I will not vote for the con artist who started Trump U. Not happening. I don't trust him nor Hillary. I'm waiting to see who else is on the ticket. I refuse to vote for someone who scammed hundreds of thousands from poor people.

I really wasn't being flip with my comment. News reports today have detailed his hatred for many groups including gays, women, Jews and African-Americans.

He had made threats against African-Americans to a fellow worker. That same worker made complaints to management because of Mateen's attitude and then quit when Mateen stalked him because of his complaints.

He had researched other gay nightclubs in Orlando before he chose Pulse. He had also engaged gay people online in Orlando.

Apparently his hate for gay people ran deep and the "kiss in Miami" may very well have triggered his rage beyond his ability to contain it. Any contact he might have had with ISIS is still unknown.

I'm sure he had researched ISIS but there's no evidence that they had any direct control over his actions. Maybe he thought he was getting a "2-fer" by killing gay people and crediting ISIS.

You forget that the FBI interviewed him twice in the past because he claimed to coworkers he was a member of al qaeda and said he was going to blow up infidels?

Then when interviewed he said he was just making it all up......

Fast forward and he kills 50 infidels

You need help with some definitions

Here:

Violent Radicalization - the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.[8]

Homegrown Terrorism - the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.[8]

Ideologically Based Violence - the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs.[8]

Uh, the Orlando shooting fits quite cleanly under the definition of homegrown terrorism you just posted.

Wrong, this clearly falls under the first

Homegrown terrorism by definition is done in an effort to affect and change our US laws and politics.

He clearly states that on many occasions that his purpose is to further Isis's and radical islams objectives

He didn't scream out "marriage should be between a man and a woman" Or "overturn roe vs wade"
