I mean is Florida really a culturally southern state?

The real Florida is. The plastic Florida, not so much. We've been invaded, overran by the interlopers, but we still control the State House & Senate. We ain't goin nowhere.

The True South is still very much alive in Florida.

All cultures are being affected by the 21st century's modes of communication. Globalization is here. Embrace it or hole up and wait for a pandemic or something.

Hey aTm fellas don't act like Texas is exempt from this. Unfortunately for Texas and the South the things that separate themselves and make them great are dying out. It takes generations to change a culture but sooner or later It will. Maybe it's because of all the liberal arse yanks that move in and frick shite up. These Californians and real yanks(not Missourians) frick up their own state then come down and try to change your laws, your way of life and bang your women.

You used a whole lot of words to say absolutely nothing

Is not Kansas City the Midwestern home to the thing most epitomizing of yankees ... the Italian mob? Mizzourites are proud of that, amirite?

Nice attempt at deflection.

Why not address my point that the Yankees states have been carrying the freeloading South for damn well long enough?

Yes, has been for 40 years. Very sad.

Best post in the entire thread, and dead on the money. The rust belt died in the 70s and Yankees moved South in droves. This migration all but ruined the ambience of places like Atlanta and Charlotte. I am proud to say I have eaten in Vicksburg's "Old Southern Tea Room." Attended the old NASCAR races that have been moved other, more lucrative locations.

If I had it my way, we (TX) wouldn't cough up a single dime of taxes for the fed govt.

Free country, without migration limits. Anyway, Kentucky, except for basketball and country music, are quitters anyway.

Though I must admit, though the state probably
has the worst social dichotomy in the country, it is also one of the most beautiful.

The thing that has always baffled is how with towns like Pikeville, etc., taking up so much of eastern Kentucky, the state can afford the highest paid athletic coach in the country.

Not that either. Attended UK after spending three years at Fort Campbell.

ETA: I don't really like basketball and I love Kentucky football. Does that sound like a bandwagoner to you?
